The winner of the Brickyard 400 has gone on to win the championship six times, most recently Jimmie Johnson in 2006. Tony Stewart did it the previous season. Juan Pablo Montoya has made two starts at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, winning the Indianapolis 500 in 2000 and finishing second in last year's NASCAR event. Stewart is the defending champion and has won two of the past three Brickyards.
