Sky, I'm lost again.  I've just gotten uset to the last change. My value is droping like a lead sinker. Posting positions have changed.  Only 5 ways to rate now.  Everything is smaller (I get my new glasses tomorrow) and I suffer from CSS. 

But you've made the transition easier.... even if it's to another site.  I'm to old for change.  Why can't CBS just leave things along for a year, then change like the Auto makers do.. here's the new and improved CBS site.  And still no spell check.

The TRUTH about CBS "ratings"/ How to be a Top 10

 I am going to post the TRUTH about CBS "ratings." 

 Keep in mind, although the truth may set you free - it ain't always what you want to know.

I did NOT post from June to August 2007. When I stopped posting in June I was a Top 1K.

Within 3 days of returning 2 months later, not only was a almighty Top 10...

I was ranked #1 for a few days.

Since my return...I have posted regularly and dropped from Top 10, to Top 100, and now I am a Top 1K again.

Fourtunatly, I am not here to chase a carrot on a stick rating, AND I know most of you aren't either. Its just frustrating IF you dont understand how the rankings REALLY work..

Thats the truth.

The moral...IF you really want a Top 10 CBS ranking - just get to Superstar and split for 2 months.

I hope you notice my  "Graranimals" rating system has a Magical Unicorn representing 10.

Magicial Unicorns DO NOT exist - just like CBS' 10's...5 stars, etc...

Don't really care one way or the other about the new rating system; my 5-star ratings still come out as 2.5 stars.  Seems kinda stupid to me.

About quitting posting and having your rating go up, the same thing happened to me.  When I quit posting as RandyB, I went back after about 2 months and made one post.  The next day I was ranked in the top 10!  I didn't post anymore and it soon dropped, but I haven't posted under that name in 5 months and I think RandyB is still Top 1K!

Good post! I think that the site changes are getting better but the whole Star rating system blows.  Why put five stars up there if they are going to adjust it to 2.5?  Just take that option away or make a 5 a 5 and a 1 a 1.  It reminds me of that Tim McGraw song.  Back when a hoe was a hoe, Coke was a coke And crack's what you were doing When you were cracking jokes

Hate to say this, Sky, but I'm with Uncle here.  I would like to go back to when the ratings numbers meant something, because the same trolls are still doing the same thing.  Only I would remove the manipulation of intended scores from 1-9 alone.  Also there are formatting changes that are difficult so adjust to, and, no offense, but I wish the huge blog section were below the favorites.  Also, all you folks so far are SS, and though I don't care about that name per se, my  "automatic ratings" on posts just gets lower and lower, so I believe I will forever remain an A-S.  Sorry, but very discouraging.

Sorry to be so negative, Sky, but there were no announcements about the coming changes so it was all quite a shock.  Sheesh my spelling, etc. are bad this am!!!  I can't rate anyone here because in prior posts the stars are overlaying the "Reply to.." option.
