Mushroom timeThey've started to find the first black morels in our area and with the moisture we've had this year it should be a bumper crop all season. |

Mushroom timeHey brick I don't realy hunt mushrooms , But I do Have a story . One time when I first started this water job . I was a pipe line inspector for new waterline installation .I was standing in the woods by some old rotted tree looking like I was lost . When the guy running the backhoe took the extension arm and picked me up off the ground . Then he got off the hoe with a paper bag .ran over where I was standing and started plucking shrooms . 1 of them had to weigh at least 2lbs I didn't have a clue what was going on until I saw that huge mushroom. |

Mushroom timeYeah Waterman, that's kind of what I was looking for. Mushroom stories you'll never forget. I see you're from Ohio so you're in a good spot for them as this part of the midwest is the best. |

Mushroom timeI usually go mushroom hunting every year but my father fell and broke his hip so I'm taking care of him instead of hunting down mushrooms. Man, I'm gonna miss that.....Hopefully get back to em next year....Those of you going, good luck to ya.....The past few years I haven't done all that well.....It always seems the conditions are less than favorable for one reason or another.
My father found a black morel one time that was 11 inches high by 7 inches wide. Got his name and picture in the paper with it. Truly an amazing mushroom.... |

Mushroom timeWell I'm back from my vacation and have to say the mushrooms were a little disappointing this year but they are still coming up so I may get lucky yet. We found about 35 pounds which is far below normal so hopefully the coming days can pick up the slack. |
