Personally i despise Manu Ginobli. I have hated the guy ever since he entered the league. It seems like he always is the reason my team loses to the Spurs and i am so sicks off it. What about all of you? Who is your most hated NBA player?

On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most I could hate an athlete, Kobe is a 10. I don't know that there's another guy in the NBA who even comes close to as much as I hate that cocky, self-centered, and as far as I'm concerned overrated SOB.

Well...... I would have to say for me it is Kobe. He still acts immature and don't make his teammates better playing around him.
By the way I am a huge Spurs fan and I say "Go Manu".

Can you see my avatar? Manu Ginobili is my favorite NBA and international basketball player. The man does everything, hit jumpers, lay it in, dunk it, defend, and most importantly win. How about that last second shot in the olympics? That was sick. As far as who I hate, it definitely has to be Kobe "immature" Bryant. He's too self centered and doesn't care about his team but for himself. Good move for the Bulls at not making a run for him. If the Bulls are going to trade for someone I hope it is not Kobe, but rather Pau Gasol.

This one is EASY
VINCE CARTER--- this guy should have been a HOF player. What a waste of talent. He has the ability to put 40 points a night, but he never does.. Quit on teams, just a waste
Kobe- easy pick
Shaq- don't hate, I think he's funny. But, I respect the game, and as great as he was, he took way too many nights off, always is out of shape until halfway through the season. Just a lazy player
JKidd- Overated. Most embarssing triples ever. cant shoot.

Manu is also #1 in the art of flopping. When is the league going to start penalizing players for their ham-handed acting?
Next time Ginobli gets grazed and suddenly flies into the second row the refs should tie him to a chair and make him watch another horrible performance: Ben Affleck in "Gili."

First off, I rated the question itself because it's actually a great one. Wdmans_world hit the nail right on the head though (I rated his response). Over the years, I've hated players only to later think of them as being okay: Ron Artest's face used to make be want to punch a baby; something about his always giddy 'I'm not serious about what I do' face used to have me in fits, but over the last two years, he's shown that he has actually taken his talent (we all knew he had it) and used it unlike many players who have the potential to be great. Rasheed Wallace to me always had the gifts to be a true great, but he passed up the chance already with the many years of doing 'just enough' to get by without ever using more than just his talents/no work. Ron Artest seems like a huge pain, but when I see the man play, he hustles, shows a true will to win without much care of personal stats, and to me he is the best man to man defender in the league (Bruce Bowen was a first team defender last year again, and I don't get it - when will people see that he is simply not a great defensive player anymore?), which I feel is overlooked by his past in addition to his increased offensive output. "Well, we gave him the defensive player of the year award a couple of years back..eh, he doesn't need recognition on that side of the court. Instead, let's just keep sticking Bruce Bowen in there"! - whoever is choosing.
I think at this point, I'd have to say that Manu Ginobilli is one guy that I don't see myself ever 'cooling off' on in terms of hating an athlete. He does hustle, he's a gamer, he brings intensity every night and in my opinion, he is their primary offensive threat (not parker, no longer Duncan etc.) to the point that the Spurs wouldn't be anywhere near as good without him. However, sometimes (like so many Spurs) I can feel myself creating my own insufferable bald spot by tearing my hair out every single time I see him cross the boundary from 'playing the game without considering failure' to 'flat out cheap shots, hard fouls, the innocent look he always has if whistled for anything at all (the 'HUH? I didn't do anything!' face), and finally (the too familiar pet peeve that creates a feeling of concern regarding some of the referees' apparent need to seek psychiatric care for what could be insanity and/or run as fast as possible to the nearest optometrist) the 'slap in the face' basketball takes every time he turns 'flopping' into what seems to be the first goal. At times, there is literally no contact, and ol' Manu will still get a whistle by the way he flies twenty feet, holds his head as if he were hit, dives into the crowd and risks hurting a fan because of being 'violently pushed' by another player, and the way he has turned the entire Spur team into a group of Oscar worthy actors by more or less teaching them how to do the same and/or corroborate his consistent 'cheating' by the agonizing and ludicrous way they console his 'injuries'. I've never been a fan of the Spurs (great team; 3 1/2 titles is pretty impressive), but it wasn't until he started his jaw-dropping ability to commit uncalled fouls on one end of the floor with 'wrap-around' drives to the basket, elbows, kicking, five steps without dribbling, using the only move he knows to get in the paint (every time it's that same behind the back dribble and uncalled carrying he does to create contact), and somehow gets whistles in his favor if anyone gets within two feet of him. I mean really, sometimes I wonder if he is playing basketball or if he's playing "let's see how asinine I can make my next flop just to see if I get a call or not". For someone who can shoot so well, move without the ball, defend well enough without appearing to get ready to karate chop someone, run an offense like a PG, play without ever getting tired at a high level and pure will to win, I find it unfortunate that he feels the need to flop instead of just playing the game (Vlade Divac was the worst ever, but he wasn't as skilled as Mr. Ginobil) because in all honesty, he is really a special 'star quality' type of player. If I could say anything to him, I'd say "Manu, you don't NEED to look like a complete fool by pretending and complaining more than anyone in NBA history. You are good enough to keep your eyes on the game rather than the refs, and unless you're playing in San Antonio (in that truly ugly box they built) where the fans chuckle with delight when you irk everyone else by practicing 'Theater Arts 101', to constantly embarrass yourself by making the Spurs look like a group of jr. high cry babies with you as their leader. I beg you to play one game without the antics just so you can see that your play won't suffer, you will get calls if you are fouled, and you will most certainly earn an extremely larger amount of respect from the other players and fans. You are known as an annoying, whiny flopper; quit the tiresome routine - I guarantee you will be viewed as the player you are instead of the 'guy who flops and is too cheap to go to Bosley to cover up that incredibly annoying circle on your head that you desperately try to comb over on a daily basis'.
Once again, I've gone on WAY too long, but nothing is worse than a flopper, but sometimes (like Rasheed Wallace, Vince Carter, Stephon Marbury, Bonzi Wells, Stromile Swift, post Seattle Shawn Kemp, Elton Brand with the exception of one year, Vince Carter again, and so many others) it's worse to watch the players that are gifted but too lazy, thus leaving us wondering how good they COULD have been. My apologies for the rant - the question itself deserved a well-thought out response, and other responses like the one that prompted me to type this response (Wdmans_world - I agree with you 100% because I'm also waiting for some kind of flopping penalty; it's gotten out of hand). Another question that would stir up some thought would be "Who is wasting their gifts by settling for being 'good' and not 'great' Vs. Who is not blessed with as much talent as some others, but is great none-the-less because of heart and hard work alone (Steve Nash and Kevin Martin come to mind)"?
Until next time,
DAR

MY VOTE IS
RON ARTEST!
I HATE THE DUDE SO MUCH, HE CANT PLAY FOR NOTHING AND SHOULDNT BE IN THE LEAGUE AT ALL. HE IS INFAMOUS, NOT FAMOUS. HE IS ALWAYS FIGHTING ON & OFF THE COURT AND WOULDNT WANT HIM ON MY TEAM. I WOULD RATHER PLAY WITH 4 PLAYERS ON THE COURT THAN HIM BEING ON MY SQUAD. I HONOSTLY MEAN THAT AND I AM NOT JOKING!!!
