cmc18v: glad to hear your house is ok. My dad got flooded out of his farm in Manitoba in the 50's when I was born and that is how we ended up east. He gave up farming.

I can tell you from Florida, general contractors should make a lot of money in the next few years and should go house to house OR call government agencies and register and get to work right away. Will the feds give your state the money they gave brother Jeb Bush here in Florida? Big question. You get insurance claims and lineups for work to be done. Of course, the real estate craze has died down, so that may limit the building boom.

I had one guy  want us to go down to New Orleans to do roofing. We had a 42 foot  Diesel RV and they really wanted that  and for me and another two salesmen to head the sales effort plus bring in the 30 workers we said we could bring down. (this was not our line, we are not construction folk). They thought we could tarp up the houses with tarping teams and then come back and put roofs on (with insurance money). All we had to do was register or sign up the clients. We were possibly going to make $50,000 or more per month, but we did not go because the first acts of the owner was to buy a car, a house and a new computer and hire his sister with the money he received from the government. I felt he should have invested the $175,000 the government got him into the enterprise and therefore he was not trustworthy, afterall we were bringing in the RV and had no salary and were bringing in the workers we would be responsible for through a large contractor who had 300 employees (they'd likely kill him or maybe us if we did not pay them, they were Mexicans) and would send us 30. He'd be owing us a huge amount of money after the initial earnings for the tarping (10 times the tarping earnings).

Very Wild times ahead for your industry, CMC.

I suspect the crime threat will be much lower in iowa and the midwest. Crime was a  very serious risk, post flood, in Louisiana. you had to be armed because workers had no real police protection and times were desperate.

Great Hall picks. Very happy.

Larianov and Messier shared the following:

  • Played on two of the greatest teams ever.
  • Won MANY Stanley Cups (9 altogether) and MANY International Trophies and Olympics
  • Both were players who made a difference in very important games. MONEY PLAYERS against the most difficult or talented players the league could offer up.
  • Both had extremely long careers and were tough enough to ALWAYS SUIT UP.
  • Both were great team guys.

Is there anything else they could lhave been as players??? I really do not think so. I guess Anderson could haved had more individual hardware, but both he and Larianov were always underestimated anyway. Speed and size creates opportunities for the whole team. The quality shows up best against quality competition, and sure enough, Anderson was a near superstar in playoff compoetition.

Flyers trade Prospal's rights?  Thank you.  Didn't get much for him though.  Better than nothing I suppose.

Well, that D2 pitcher made his debut tonight.  WOW.....that kid is amazing.  We won 3-1 and the only reason why Aston Valley scored a run was because we threw away a doubleplay ball.  The kid hasn't batted in 4 years because the DH (boooo!!!!) but walked twice and then knocked in the game winning runs on a bases loaded single.

We play Norwood tomorrow night.  We're going to be a little shorthanded, but we should be okay.

With the names thrown around ealier about who was eligible for the Hall. I must say in my opinion it was a below average Hall selection year!

Alright guys, I've been thinking about a contest to run for next season, let me know what you guys think. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

What you do is go through each Conference, and list the teams in order from 1-15, predicting what seed each team will finish in. You would get 1 point for each correct seed you pick, 2 points for each correct division winner (regardless of whether or not you get them in the correct order, you just won't get the bonus point for having the correct seed). 3 points for picking the correct Conference winner and a bonus point for picking the correct Presidents trophy winner and for picking the worst team in the league
