My cousin goes to an all guys high school in Vancouver. He loved it apparently. I would love it myself really. Women are nice on the weekends to <deleted for fear NHLGirl might somehow find this> and whatnot, but at school they're just a distraction really.

At my school, Eid is probably the most celebrated holiday this season. Lot's of <law abiding muslims> at my school. I say happy holidays because I just don't want to anger anyone. IMO, it serves everybody's needs just fine. Keeps the peace nah'mean?

deleted for fear NHLGirl might somehow find thisI'm telling.

I just thought of another thing that annoys me......Ovaltine commercials.
The thing with the Happy Holidays is this......why did they have to change from Merry Christmas?  Why do they have to have the Word Police out there?  If Walgreens wanted to say "Happy Hannukah" at their stores, I think that's fine.  I'd rather them say that than Happy Holidays.

I'm not going to be insulted if someone wishes me a Happy Kwanzaa.  Why should someone be insulted if I wish someone a Merry Christmas?  Its just that it seems that many people are out to crush Christianity or something.  There's that whole thing with the public 10 Commandments on the front of a courthouse or something that people are going nuts over.  That burns me up that people get upset over that kind of stuff.

I don't know, the rule here is to say whatever you want.  If you want to wish people a "Happy Holidays," then go right ahead.  I can't tell you what not to say.  But come December 25th, I'll be wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.

Flyers are beating the Pens 5-2 and I'm loving it.  They'll start the 3rd period on the PP.  Lupul has 5 points.

The Ten Commandments thing angers me. That's religious doctrine at a supposedly secular institution, simple as that, but I won't get into politics..as much as I'd love to.

I agree 100% on the ovaltine thing though...."Mom's making rich ovaltine hot!!"aaaaargh. I wanna end that little b*stard. It ruins the entire Jeopardy experience for me.

Okay, Cuse, I'll say one thing about the Ten Commandments thing, and then I'll let you say something if you want.  Or we can actually have a political debate about it on the cycling message board or something, but not here.

The US was founded on Christian beliefs.  The basis for our court systems and any justice system come from the Ten Commandments.  The separation between church and state is a tricky thing, and it does not cover all the affairs that go on.  Being that the court system is completely based off the Ten Commandments, I see no problem with it.

If someone wants to quote the Quran somewhere in public on an inscription or something, that's fine with me.

Here's my thoughts on the holidays, and the wishing of happiness thereof.. and this is totally about me and how I would do it, or want done with me, not saying how anyone else should handle it.

For me, I would say "Merry Christmas" if it were really close to the actual day (maybe a week or so prior to it), and then of course on the 25th itself.. no matter how long we actually spend preparing for his holiday, it really is just 1 day.. so why would I wish someone happiness or whatever on a day so far into the future, or one that has passed for that matter.. once the 25th is over, "Merry Christmas" can't be uttered. Now, all the other times around the "holidays", to which I not only include the Kwanzaa and Hanukkah but also Thanksgiving and New Year's as well.. it's like one big grouping over about a 2-month period. If I were to say "Happy Holidays" around the first week of December, that kinda means, I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, and hope you have a nice Christmas (or other equivalent religious holiday) and a Happy New Year to boot. Just clump it all together in one greeting. Once you're passed Christmas and closing in on New Year's, all the other holidays are pretty much over, and the only one left is New Year's.. so the only appropriate thing to say then would be "Happy New Year". "Happy Holidays" at that point would seem ridiculous since there aren't any others going on.

In terms of people who celebrate the other holidays other than Christmas.. it gets kinda weird.. if you (to which I mean me) were to come across someone who you might think celebrates one of the other ones, but you aren't too sure if they do or not, or if they even celebrate Christmas or not.. it's not really about offending them to me, it's kinda like.. why would I want to wish them a Happy whatever on something they don't celebrate? If someone wished me a Happy Hanukkah, I wouldn't be offended, but I would also be looking at them like, "what the heck are you talking about?" So in that regard, I would only want to get the correct holiday to wish someone a happy one.. so maybe I could look smarter and more precise than someone who would do a more generalization lol.

But maybe that's just me.

Oh.. and GO Flyers.. and stuff!

How does Philly beat the Pens 8-2 and sportline gives Crosby third star?

It's not really Sportsline.. CBS.. that is giving the star*s of the game. Those are the official 3 star*s of the game, as they are announced at the game. In this instance, they were chosen by Rob Parent of the Del. Co. Daily Times.. and shame on him too. It is a disgrace that he would choose Crosby as any star in a game like this, but then that just proves how much the media is feeding off of this kid.. he gets dressed for a game and I think he's automatically the 3rd star, and what he does on the ice will determine if he moves up to #2 or #1. Like you said, Philly wins 8-2 and Crosby's 2 assists mean absolutely nothing in the game other than to help tie it after 1 period.. wow. How does a guy like R. J. Umberger score a freakin hat trick (his first career one by the way), and a total of 5 points in a game, and doesn't even get one of the star*s?? That's absurd! Mike Richards was given the 2nd star for his 3 assists, but he should have been 3rd, with Umberger 2nd. Seriously, Richards had a nice game, and he's been great this year.. but did he put any pucks in the net in that game? RJ nets 3 (and a couple of pretty shots to boot), and he's not worthy of a star but Richards is worth 2nd? I thought Rob Parent was smarter than this.. not that 3 star*s of the game matters a whole lot in the great scheme of things.. but they are there for a reason, you might as well get them right!

- And the reason for the "star*s" spelling is so it won't come up as linked to Dallas' page lol.
