-Well, JD, I think that the term "prelude" possibly got it's start from the Baroque suite form, which I am fairly familiar with- 4, 5, or 6 pieces that formed a set in the same key and loosely based on a similar theme. The "prelude" (hence the use of "pre") was the first in the set (prelude, allemande, sarabande, bouree, and gigue was a common order, each is a different style and tempo, with the sarabande being the slowest, and the gigue tha fastest). That's my understanding, at least....

Wow, JD & Da Fan you two are really getting in a heavy conversation.
I like some classical music just never got into collecting much.
NOW: Lindsey Buckingham - Trouble
Really the only solo song I liked from Lindsey, he was much better with Fleetwood Mac.
Besides The Cure, I can't enough of The Mac either

Cleve, they are one of my new favorites; in fact, I rated their 2007 album, Three, as the best album of the year. They really rock, but with a bit of a country twang. Think of The Replacements crossed with Drive-By Truckers.

Johnny Winter: Johnny Winter
Winter's debut album for Columbia was also arguably his bluesiest and best. Straight out of Texas with a hot trio, Winter made blues-rock music for the angels, tearing up a cheap Fender guitar with total abandon on tracks like "I'm Yours and I'm Hers," "Leland Mississippi Blues," and perhaps the slow blues moment to die for on this set, B.B. King's "Be Careful With a Fool." Winter's playing and vocals have yet to become mannered or clichéd on this session, and if you've ever wondered what the fuss is all about, here's the best place to check out his true legacy.

Hey yall,
Shuffling through the afternoon:
Now playing:
The Door - Keb 'Mo
Seems like it's his time on the thread. I brought him up yesterday and Flamingo jumped all over it. I'm glad.
Before that was:
Annabelle - Gillian Welch
This is from Revival. It's a disc I can't get enough of. Her sound is stunning. Great songs, great voice, great arrangements.

I love Keb' Mo'; he doesn't get the attention he deserves. The Door is a good album, but my favorite is Slow Down.

Can't argue Rock. I've seen him live a couple of times with Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne guesting on a few songs.

NOW: Steppenwolf- Magic Carpet Ride
Every time I hear this song always reminds me of "Star Trek- First Contact"
Cochrane has to play this before he launches.....Rock n Roll!!!
Cleveland,
Are you talking Bobby Cochran? I just saw him last weekend. He is playing with Antsy McClain and the Trailer Park Troubadours and we all went on a spectacular Cruise to Cozumel. Saturday night, Bobby, Michael Kelsey, and Pete Huttlinger performed what was called a "Late Night Jam" for about 3 hours highlighted by Bobby leading the trio through a surf medley. It was an awesome, once in a lifetime experience. Bobby is a terrific guy who insisted on taking our picture. We also took one with him!
