Actually, neither.

I respect the Red Wings.  Obviously, they have won a few cups.  Everyone thought they would fall apart with the salary cap.  They have a great eye for lower drafted talent and castoffs (Cleary, Samuelsson).  With that said, I am not a fan per se. 

Unfortunately, I am a long suffering Leafs fan, but lets face it.  It's easy to be a fan of a winner.  I love my Leafs no matter how bad they get.

I agree with you. If I had to pick one I would say fan. I definitely do not hate the Red Wings because I love Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterburg, and one of my favorite players of all time is Domink Hasek. But I wouldn't exactly say fan "persay."

I am suffering more than man. Phoenix Coyotes. This year has been fun but 5 playoff appearences and never got past the first round is just straight up depressing dude.

Your av's don't have the classest and smartest of fans either.  Chanting that the other players SUCK and getting provoked by your PA announcer, nice.  You never, I repeat NEVER hear that crap at the JOE.  And by the play of the REDWINGS, so skilled with the puck one must know of all the rules.  Where as your av's playing like a pick up game of DumpnChase not much knowledge needed.  Keep rooting for your av's someone needs to.

First of all little man, the fans didn't jump ship.  You obviously never spent a night in michigan last year, because if you did, you would know that the unemployment rate skyrocketed like never before,  michigan having one of the highest  rates in the country. That's the only reason fans didn't go.. but once again,, are you,, hummm, 15 yet?

In some cases they don't even know what offsides, or icing is. 

In most cases, they know exactly what offside is.  Not in all cases though. See, milenko you smart fan you, there isn't a team in the world where all the fans know and understand all the rules.... but once again,, hummm, actually thinking your about 12???

Before you write anything again, do some research, refer to facts only,  or don't waste anybodys time little man.

hummmm,, i know... you assumed that when both your friends told you they jumped ship.. but i'll tell you what i'm going to do... i'm going to go with somthing devellano was willing to go public with.. i'm going to go with the fact that season ticket holders that either didn't go to the playoff games or didn't renew , TOLD the wings the reason was their jobs,, the economy etc..

I think its funny that you two are going back and forth like small children, at least amused me while  I got to the final post so I could write something...I came here to answer the question though..

I've always hated the Red Wings.  Not saying that they aren't a good hockey squad, because they are, but because in 1997, the only time I've been alive to see the Flyers in the cup, the Red Wings swept them in 4 games.  I am used to Philadelphia teams letting me down, though.  I was born in 1986.  I have seen each of our major 4 sports teams in their respective championship game/series.  I have seen all 4 of our sports teams fail in their endeavors. 

What is a true fan?  Someone who has lived in an area all their life, watched their teams through triumphs and tribulations, and still roots for them every game.   Its been since 1983 since Philadelphia had any type of championship, and I think its time to bring one home.  If the Flyers can snag Forsberg (what line would he even play on...) I think we have a sincere shot at winning the East.  Go ahead and say they are horrible or whatever you want to say, they are on a 5 game skid and I know that. 

brf132,,,  I don't think anybody is going to say that phili sucks or that they are horrible.. they are actually a very big , talented hockey team. But they just aren't getting it done. I'm not talking about the last 5 games though.. even the wings have lost 6 in a row now...
