I post this question on the "big" 5 sports. Which sports championship do you think is the hardest to win?
I am going with Stanley cup. Only cause how long the playoffs are and the intensity of the sport. What do you guys think, and why? Or is it some other sport I have not t hought of.?.

I'd say The Stanley Cup is the hardest to win. Not only because you'd have to win 4 out 7 games, but the speed, intensity, and the competition within the playoffs.
Throughout the playoffs not always the better team wins every time, but a lot of times...
the lucky team wins.
Regular season determines your seeding, but how you do in the playoffs....is another story.

MLB or NASCAR
MLB just based on the limited number of slots for the playoffs and "usually" how much money it takes to make the playoffs due to a certain team raising the price for the rest of the League. 6 of 30. ... so if you have a lot of money much easier you can buy your way to at least the playoffs.
All though only 6 of 30 make the playoffs. Salary Cap makes it easier to compete, all though it takes longer to 'Build' a team because of the many positions and it may take years to
NHL is much tougher with the amount of teams there are now. But once in the playoffs start a hot goalie can take you most if not all the way. 16 of 30 Salary Cap enables much more teams to be competitive
NASCAR... Okay particpants to Championship is the highest ration by far, 70+ Drivers listed, all though only 10 get a chance win it's the race for the Championship starts.
Another money sport, more money better chance.
Women iN Basketball Arenas... not a top sport in "MY" opinion.

There's a couple different ways to look at this question.
The toughest to win for any given team has to be the NHL, the field is fairly competitve. The #7 or #8 is usually on fire come April and always provides a challenge, and usually a top 4 seed is considered a strong cup contender. We would never be surprised by the #4 team winning the championship.
However, the toughest championship to win for the best team is likely the NFL. The one game per "round" makes the format too tough to give you a true better of the two team advanced outcome. The any given Sunday mentality.
The toughest for a Darkhorse has to be MLB, simply because of the overrall limit on teams in teh playoffs (8 not six as I believe someone mentioned before).

NHL especially west coast teams although to get to the playoffs it isnt as hard as say MLB or NASCAR but once you get there you could play up to 28 games in a 60 day period (didnt Colorado have 28 days off till World Series started?) days off being mostly travel days. thats why Anaheim's win last year was an amazing feat they had to travel to Minnesots in rd 1 to Vancouver rd 2 (1500 miles) Detroit rd3 then Ottawa in the finals thats more travel in 2 months than most NFL teams do in a season were as most eastern teams can take a bus or a train

Of course since this question is posed on a link related to the NHL the results will be sku'ed, but even still if you look at this objectively the Stanley Cup has to be considered the most difficult to win because of the grueling nature of the sport.
MLB only has 3 rounds. The NHL 4. On top of that, it's baseball...come on.
NBA is scheduled to pretty much only play on the weekends, so you have plenty of time to rest. The entire playoffs takes just about as long as the damn regular season. Steve Nash got his nose broken in the playoffs last year and it was almost the end of the NBA world...that pretty much happens on a daily basis come Stanley Cup time.
NFL is 4 games tops, played over 5 weeks. Sure football is a tough sport, but come on, that schedule is a cake-walk compared to the NHL playoffs.
The NHL is a sport where you get 5 minutes for dropping your gloves and pummeling someone's face in. If you even step on to the court during an "altercation" in the NBA you get a 3 day vacation. It's a joke, hands down the NHL playoffs and winning THE CUP is the most difficult championship in all of sports.
It's a no-brainer.

I know nothing of NASCAR and so I won't vouch for that one, but my guess is the NFL. On top of the one and done aspect and the huge media distraction during championship week, I just think that all the distractions make it really difficult for a team to focus on the big prize. We just kind of let the NHL's play hockey, and the same goes for the MLS and MLB. The NBA's playoffs are really difficult, but I think the imbalance of power makes it easier for the western teams once they get there. Perhaps Boston or Detroit will make it more difficult this season. I agree about hockey one thing, however. Any one of the 16 teams has a legitimate chances of winning the thing. The Ducks were a 4 seed last year...
