It may be his third strike, but you don't kick you starting QB off your team for missing class or meetings. You punish him. If he had a transgression with the law, I could see him getting thrown off the team, but not for this. I'm a Gator fan, so I could care less what happens to Perrilloux, but to throw someone off a team, it has to be a serious mistake. Many students miss class every day, its not a good idea, but its certainly not something that makes you a bad person. Grades are what matter.

I don't think RP would be gone JUST for missing a few classes and meetings. It would be for the sum total of all his sins: fake ID to get into a casino, a counterfeiting operation where he was named as a "person of interest", and then, on top of all that, he gets the big head and decides meetings and clases aren't important enough for him to grace them with his presence. If I'm Les Miles, I'm considering it. How far am I going to allow him to push me before I slap him bback down to size? Fortunately for RP, I'm not his coach, so I don't get to make that call.

If it were my call, he would be gone. He is a pampered athlete with a division one scholarshpi and he is still screwing up. He needs to focus on school and stay out of trouble and I don't think he can do that at LSU.

i think it is pretty sad when an unpolished, bigheaded junior never been a starter sec QB decides he is to good for his own team. o wait a minute, its not because of him that the team is a national champ, its the damn defense and lucky breaks. he would be thrown off any other team had it not been for the fact they aint got noone else right now. he will be gone before the start of the season so no worries gator fans ryan perriloux will not be beatin anyone this year except maybe a juco team or playin his xbox. what a friggen loser eh?

I give coach credit, your QB is the leader he has had his chances (plural) you let him slide you no longer have the respect of the team! It's not like they will be having a sister of the poor QB take his place. We are talking about LSU correct!!!

So you wouldn't kick him off the team because he's the starting QB? What kind of ethical guide is that? Different standards for different positions. I'd say you kick him off BECAUSE he's the starting QB, and has apparently decided that the coaching staff's earlier warnings and specific guidelines weren't valid.
Nice example to set, Mr. Starting QB, Leader of the Team. Personally, I'd give him the Colquitt treatment - pull his scholarship. If he really wants to play, let him earn the team's respect and a scholarship for his senior year by playing as a walk-on.
Can you say "Division 1-AA"? (or whatever it is this year)

If I was his coach, he would be watching games from the bleachers (if he decided to show up). To miss classes (which is why one goes to college in the first place) and team meetings is unexcuseable. He has been shown grace up to this point and if he was in the real world (outside of the NFL) and had this kind of attitude, he would be fired.
And just like Hawkman77 stated: Nice example to set, Mr. Starting QB, Leader of the Team. Personally, I'd give him the Colquitt treatment - pull his scholarship. If he really wants to play, let him earn the team's respect and a scholarship for his senior year by playing as a walk-on. I would do the very same thing.

Every league has issues with certain teams, but this issue needs to result in the kid getting let go. Suspension does nothing to colelge kids these days. They suspend someone for a couple of games against who, Tulane or Arkansas State so they can reappear against Florida for the big game? A suspension wont do anything unless it is against your biggest teams to really get the point across. Kids need to be suspended for the big games like Ohio State/USC this fall or LSU/Florida, not the small get us ready games. Get rid of him, three strikes is enough and a message needs to be sent, although it did nothing for Marcus Vick in Virginia Tech's case.

Sounds to me he doesn't wants anything to do with the academic or athletic side of going toLSU, so why keep him?

It's the SEC. Where football is more important than academics. Where recruits only have to score 14 on ACT's to get full rides. C'mon, have you heard past LSU QB Jamarcus Russell? He's about as smart as a shovel. It doesn't matter, as long as Perrilloux gives them a chance to win, he'll be back..... probably by spring drills.

Even the people in Baton Rogue says get rid of him, by a whooping 75%. He has been giving more chances then most, time to rid yourself of the varmit. Show the country that LSU is a national champ and do the RIGHT thing.

Show the country that LSU is a national champ and do the RIGHT thing. Absolutely. I think he has proven himself to be exactly the opposite of the leader he needs to be to take LSU anywhere and he can't even be trusted to stay out of trouble enough to play in each weeks games. It is time to bring up someone else. It may set us back a year or two, but that is how it is.

i know that our florida teams may have a tough time with discipline but as a league we are solid
Your Florida teams are the only ones in the ACC that are solid. I remember Clemsen being on probation. I also remember when Maryland was having their problems. But bottom line is...your league with FSU and Miami "acting a fool" more than makes up for the rest of the teams in the SEC. I am a Georgia fan, and I see two to three players a year get suspended for a game or two. Tennessee has the same problems as Georgia but I can not remember an SEC team having an all out brawl on the field or ever remember anyone stomping anyones head in the ground(Miami). I also don't remember an SEC team ever having 50% of a team cheat during a class. In fact, it was Georgia's witch president in 1990 that raised academic standards in the SEC for the admittance of atheletes that was far above any other schools in DIV I minus the few Northwesterns, Stanford's, and Vandy's. That is why are recruiting dropped off so bad in the 1990's, but then was adopted by the entire conference in the late 1990's...thank god. Maybe a reason why we could never beat Florida because they got all the good dumb athletes. Now the SEC leads all conferences in the highest standards for admittance into schools, maybe the reason Allen choose Clemsen over Georgia. So when you clean up your two brawling, cheating ACC schools then maybe you can talk about having a solid conference.
