Your picks are fine but I'd take Jeff Kent at 2B and Robb Nen as my closer.

Thinking back 20 years makes me appreciate the young pitching staff we have now.  Aside from Jason Schmidt the Giants come up short in terms of star talent.  I guess we will forever be known as the home as the one-year wonders (Estes, Hammaker, and Burkett).

Dude I am sorry but the thrill has to be on this list you may not like him (I don't know how you can not like a guy who gives a 120% everyday and has the best stankeye in the history of stankeye or was that just his face, not sure!)

I would have to go:

C:  Benito Santiago (my wife would go with Bobby Chest-a-lay-la though! haha)

1st:  Will the thrill baby

2nd:  I love Robby but the nod goes to Jeff Kent the guy is going to the hall of fame

3rd:  Matt Williams without a doubt

SS:  Mike Benjamin...haha just kidding.  I like the first Richie A. followed closely by Omar

LF:  is there any question

CF:  Ah CF the thorn in the Giants side there has been Chili, Butler, Lewis, Benard, Hamilton, Roberts, Winn, now Rowand.  the list of mediocrity is mind numbing.  I go with Rowand even though he hasn't played a game yet  But with a gun to my head on all the old Gmen I really like Lewis for his speed and d

RF:  Another thorn but I like the Burks pick cranky knees and all.

If I just went OF like you did it is Bonds, the Hackman, and Mitchell.  Who doesn't like the one flap down homerun trot!

Starting Pitching:  Woody was the most prolific lefty in Giants history so you have to go with him, Schmidt, Burkett, Kruk, and Dravecky but Cain and Lincecum will overtake the last two

Closer:  Robby Nen gave away his career for 2002 its all about him

Manager:  love humbaby but have to go with Dusty

Jack Clark is the best rightfielder the team has had since they've been in the Bay.  A couple of years there he completely carried them offensively.

I'm going with Mike Aldrete in CF, he could go get 'em better than any slow CF I can think of!

Also have to give a nod to Bob Knepper, Vida Blue, and for a pinch hitter - Mike Ivie!

I hate Baker for having Gardner bat for himself in the 5th inning bases loaded 2 outs vs Mets at NY in the playoffs in 2000.  Not only did Gardner dribble out, he went out and got rocked next inning and the game was over.

C: Santiago......'roids or not he was GREAT

1B: Will the Thrill...........My favorite player ever, HANDS DOWN

2B: Kent.....he was a jerk and still is, but he was clutch and had the right attitude for hitting behind Barry

SS: Aurillia first time around.......Great bat, even if it was full of HGH...hahaha

3B: Chris Brown.....such a bright future and then NOTHING....Matt Williams was great, but C-Brown was the man for a little while

LF: Barry....enough said.......although the Hackman would have taken him down in a fight....hahahaha

CF: Butler......always on base

RF: Reggie Sanders.....solid production year in and year out. I have never understood why no team has held on to him.

Rotation: Schmidt(dominant when healthy) Billy Swift(great couple of seasons) Ortiz(first time around he was great) Krukow(clutch and a great vet).......Lefty.......Lowry........Dravecky was great, but Lowry is all star caliber on the right team.....

Bullpen:

Beck....THE MAN

Nen....THE MAN times 10

Brantley........many fans forget Jeff Brantley, but he was solid for us for a few years

Greg Minton.......he was solid for some very bad teams

Bullpen LEFTY......D Righetti...........HE SHOULD BE MANAGING THE TEAM NOW, NOT BOCHY

Manager: Dusty....HANDS DOWN...........

Bench hitters: Chili Davis........Candy Maldonado.....Kevin Mitchell(could have played LF, RF, 3B, SS and 1B for anyone...........)....Kurt Manwaring as a close second to catch

MAN I LOVE WATCHING THE Giants IN THE PLAYOFFS.....come on boys!!!!!!

Everytime I see the name Candy Maldonaldo I think of him sliding for a ball he had no chance at in 87 against the cards in game 7 and the ball rolling by him to the wall.  That almost hurts more than 2002 but not quite!

Good thread

C: Bob Brenly

1B: Will Clark, no one comes close . The Thrill was the first player I idolized. Who could ever forget that beautiful swing.

2B: Jeff Kent-  Sorry Robby, Jeff's a Punk , left the Giants for less money, but boy was he great for us.

SS: Omar Vizquel

3B: Matt Williams: Last great hitter our farm system developed

RF: Ellis Burks- Only played a few years for us, but was great in his time.

CF: Bret Butler. Great OBP , base stealer.

LF: Superman, AKA Barry Bonds. Nothing more needs to be said.

Ouch , so do I. Thanks now Im going to be deprssed the rest of the day. Might as well bring up Althlee Hamaker(game 7 starter), Saloman Torres(93' final game against the Dodgers), Niefi Perez's homer against Nenn in 98' (could have clinched wild card, then lost one game playoff to Cubs) , JT Slow being thrown out at home in 03' and Cody Ransom making that error in 04' against the Dodgers the final weekend of the season. Great now I feel suicidal, goodbye guys, LOL

Everytime I see the name Candy Maldonaldo I think of him sliding for a ball he had no chance at in 87 against the cards in game 7 and the ball rolling by him to the wall.  That almost hurts more than 2002 but not quite!
