Nveei, that's got to be the lamest post ever. You're bitchn about a team buying their players in a salary cap sport. You realize how ignorant that is, don't you (not even to mention that none of them were free agents?
06restoirtheroa, you're way off base man. You have no perspective on the situation. To say they haven't accomplished anything is assinine. They've gone from being one of the worst NBA teams to one of the best, and they're well on their way to locking up the East's #1 seed, and for all intents and purposes they've essentially locked up at the very worst the #2 seed. You see, what you don't understand, is this isn't the Patriots. They're a team who year in and year out over the last several years have been the odds on favorites to win the championship. That's why when they don't win the SB, people can legitimately say their season was a disapointment. The Celtics hadn't even won 50 games in a decade and a half. Even after acquiring KG, I didn't hear anybody all of a sudden proclaim them to be the odds on favorites to win it all. The most common thing I heard was they'll be one of the top contenders in the East. So bottom line, the Celtics have accomplished a lot this year. If nothing else, they've added a tremendous amount of excitement that their fan base hasn't seen in years. To say that they've accomplished nothing, and to say it in the low class manner with which you chose, say a lot more about you then it does about the Celts.
Its been worth the wait!! Makes winning even that much more sweeter... Losing Reggie was tragic and really set this franchise back, but it finally seems like we have rebounded and now are back on top of the leauge...what an awsome time to be a C's fan!
i dont think that the Celtics will even get passed the 2nd round
theyll most likely face the cavs who i think can cause huge matchup problems for them
if they can beat the cavs though i think they can win the confrence
the finals will be close no matter who comes out of the west
Yes those matchup problems were very evident in the Celtics drubbing of the Cavs 2 weeks ago. The Cavs will be tough and could beat the Celts, but lets not start talking about how they are a matchup prob for the C's Lebron is as good as any player I have ever seen, but his supporting cast is horrible. Hopefully the C's will play well into the playoffs I would love to see a C's Detroit eastern finals matchup. It would be a war.
I am a die hard Celtics fan so I doubt if anyone who reads this outside the "Trolls" would give two @#%$s about this, but Kobe does not deserve MVP accolades because he doesn't make anyone better. Period. Why should he be considered for MVP, given he cried in the offseason for a trade or be traded move, and still had bitter- beer- face when his "best" friend Adrew Bynum outplayed Kobe's trash talk?.....an MVP shouldn't be made a believer, he should make others believe... That is what KG does, that is what Chris Paul does, they make others around them know they can do more, and feeds off of what they have already sold them on, that they can and will be better. David West, Tyson Chandler....Chris Paul has them sold, and is sellin his own game to boot. KG immulates this mentality. Our players gravitate tord his energy. Even, and probably, most importantly, the veterans gravitate towards him. You mean to tell me they have been doing that with KOBE all this time? Whatever....look at Magic, Mike, and the great "33." They all had the trait....so does KG.....KG for MVP, but not mad at what Chris Paul is doing. Kobe, on the other hand, had the worst talent-for-talent trade in the NBA go his team's way, then it's because of what HES been doing all this time....He doesn't have the MVP intangibles.....he's a talent laden, spoiled baby....can't wait for that siler spoon to get ripped out of his mouth....GO GREEN!!!!
Are you still mad Lebron and a bag of peanuts ousted the Pistons last year ? Wow angry little dude. You know your afraid of the Celtics its ok to admit it, they are that good. Pistons are too, but they just don't have the match ups to take the Celtics in a series. Sorry Charlie
Worst post here is by 06restoirtheroa, no question about that.
jman, you said it all. I don't think I can add anything to that. Any true Celtic fan knows what's going on, and can appreciate this teams greatness.
A title would be the icing on the cake, but the cake by itself tastes pretty darn good right now.
We went from a horrid, horrid team to a team with 3 HOF candidates... not just one. We won how many games last season? They were so bad, I think I pushed that out of my memory already. So for ANYONE to say this team hasn't accomplished anything yet is just pulling stuff out of your.... or being a hater. Either way, makes whomever says it look extremely ignorant, disrespectful, etc.
Pistons are the main competition in the East for the Celtics. They have a TEAM to speak of, just like the C's. LeBron and company is just that. The Celtics play great TEAM defense, so I don't care if LeBron scores 40-something points every game against them IF they play each other in the playoffs. My feelings are, unless LeBron clones himself by then, no big deal.
But anything CAN happen, so it's definitely a wait and see thing. Any team can be beat.
We will all see what happens come playoff time, and then can throw stones at who gets bounced early.
