As free agency has all but wrapped up and the NLF draft coming up, who do you think will be the rushing king this coming season and why?
Of course I couldn't fit them all so please, don't be offended that some of the stars aren't on this list, but you can place them in your remarks if you wish.

I personally think the load will be put on Adrian Peterson's shoulders and I think he'll be able to handle it.
The Vikings have also started to address the WR situation and that should help to open the running game some more.
Addai and LT will be up there too (provided LT is healthy).

Adrian Peterson would be my second choice. But, I'm going to go with Joseph Addai of the Colts. I don't think we've seen his best football yet. When teams play the Vikings this year, they will likely do a lot of eight man fronts on defense; thus limiting Peterson's stats. Everyone knows Peterson will get the ball. But, with the Colts, teams will expect a pass first offense, which is what buried them in the playoffs. Between that and Manning being 32 years old, I think Dungy and the Colts change their offensive philosophy a bit, leaning more on Addai to carry the load; thus opening up the play-action passes Manning is so good at. Just a gut feeling - I think this will be Addai's year. I'd LIKE to see Reggie Bush to well; just not sure if he's there yet.

I think L.T. will suffer this year with out Lorenzo Neal, and I think teams will be putting 8 men in the box consistently to stop Adrian Peterson. With that said Addai is a possibility, but I have to go with my heart and say Ronnie Brown will get the job done. Ronnie was on an All Star pace last year, and it appears that the Miami Dolphins are really improving a weak offensive line. He Ronnie can fully recover from his injury I think he has a chance to shock some people. I also think you can take Reggie Bush off the list. I am beginning to beleive the Texans made a smart decision in taking Mario Williams over Bush.

Dont count out Marion the Barbarian! As a starter getting 30 carries a game.....I cant wait to see what he does!

Marion won't get 30 carries a game. He would die by the end of the season with this physical running style.
As much as I like Adrian Peterson he was incredibly inconsistent this year. Went from 296 yards in one game to something like -3 against the 49ers. Maybe it was just because he was a rookie, I'm not sure.
I'd say maybe a Steven Jackson or Larry Johnson since they should be back and fully healthy, although Larry still doesn't have much talent around him offensively.

Why isn't Brian Westbrook on this list aside from Reggie Bush and darren mcfadden this sounds about right how could u put those to up there? im not saying brian will win it but he will most likely be in the top 5 and should definately be put into thought!!!!!!

I'd personally think that Adrian Peterson will be tough to stop this year as well. He hasn't really had much in the way of a supporting cast and IF they truly get a passing game going I think it just helps open the field for him.
One other guy that may sneak in there is hiding behind Brandon Jacobs in NY and that is Ahmad Bradshaw. He had some amazing runs for us down the stretch, showed speed, power and you can tell he really wants it. Jacobs has had some health problems as has Derrick Ward. Outside of the botched handoff in the SB, he has been the most explosive running back we've had. If Big Jake gets hurt (not that I'm wishing for this because he is a beast) Ahmad will absolutely shake and bake the NFL.

is everyone forgetting about the nfl rushing leader from last year before he got hurt, Willie Parker, all the Steelers do is run and fast willie is a beast

Willie would have won it only because Adrian Peterson got hurt and was out a couple of weeks. Even after missing 2 weeks, I still think AD had more rushing yards than Parker lol...
BTW, Parker lost his best offensive lineman this off-season and the Steelers did absolutely nothing to fill the gap. I will be surprised if Willie Parker averages 4ypc this upcoming season.

LaDanian Tomlinson will. I mean yea these other guys on this list had great years last year and all will be great backs but come on, how can you not think that it will be LT. All he has done his whole career is consistantly been a top 3 back, he led the league the last 2 years, and some of you may argue that it was because Adrian Peterson was hurt 2 games, I will counter that by saying the last time peterson didn't miss time due to injury was in high school lol, LT is the truth and will lead the league in rushing once more. And he will do it with class lol... since we all know thats what he is all about.

With the improvment of the Dolphins O-Line and if Ronnie stays healthy, her wil make a run at the title. It will be tough going againist Peterson.

This might be a little bit of bias since the Pack is my team--but I believe Ryan Grant will have quite a year--1500-1600 yards--could put him up close to the top. GO PACK GO

i truly believe Brian Westbrook is going to have another standout season. i cant wait to see him rip it up out there. this man is ridiculous. i believe in him to get the title this year if andy reid sticks to what he did last year and do like a 55% pass to 45%run. or 50 50 but before last year he was more like 70-30 pass happy. thats basically why westbrook dosnt have the stats you see LT has, Adrian Peterson is a hell of a player for his age, like lebron james is for basketball, but i dont think he is going to win the rushing title for a while. put my man westbrook up on that list.
