The Eagles have not made a #1 wide receiver a priority at all. They went after Moss and inquired about Fitzgerald because they were available. Nothing more. They've always been willing to acquire or sign top-flight talent. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that the WR position has been an off-season focal point. They aren't going to overpay for a WR and they aren't going to trade away a ton of player to get one. Drafting a rookie WR is all fine and good but that isn't close to acquiring a true # 1 WR. Most WRs don't pan out and even the best rookie WRs usually aren't good for more than about 600 to 700 yards. If you are drafting a WR, then you probably aren't counting on them to really start producing until year 3.

Thats the scary part isn't it. If they aren't willing to draft a guy like Sweed or Kelly, if available, in the first, then what is going to be there in the second. Maybe Keenon Burton. The point is, in order for the Eagles to be legit contendors, and for us to even think we can make a serious run, then we need a true number receiver. Size especially.

I tend to disagree saying that finding a number one receiver is our biggest concern. Our current wide receivers are very young and are now starting to enter the time period where they start to produce. Brown is his third year in, Curtis I believe is his fourth, Baskous third I think, and Avant second or third.
