The brackets have been finalized and were a #5 seed. They have Clemson matching up against Villanova. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about Villanova. I've ssen them play one game ( Syracuse ) this year and they looked pretty good that day. I'll have to do a little research before i'll be able to come up with an opinion about the game. What are ya'lls first impression of this match up?

Well Villanova is just glad to be in the Big Dance, their strong finish put them in.  I don't know that much about them.  The last time we played a Big East Team in the post season was Syracuse last year, and I hope for the same result this year.

Yeah, I don't know too much about Nova either but if the Tigers get past them it looks like the rest of that bracket should be easy and Clemson could very well end up in the final four if they keep playing the way they have with the exception of North Carolina game in the second half, and it sucks becuase in all three games against them this year the Tigers let down in the second half for some reason.

Great job TIGERS. I can't wait to see you put a beat down on Nova. They shouldn't have even been put in the tourney. I'm disgusted that they got in before VT. It's a slap in the face to the ACC that the Big East placed 8 teams and only for 4 ACC teams got in. It's time to show the committee that they made a blatant mistake by placing an overrated Big East team in the tourney before a deserving ACC team.

Not quite sure what the big fuss is over Va Tech, All they really did was get close to winning good games at the end of the season.  But yeah, Nova this year is really young starting 2 - 3 freshman, 1 - 2 Sophomores and 2 Juniors.  Were a streaky offensive team this year, but the defense is pretty meddlesome, creating a good amount of turnovers.  Though only 2 of the players averaged double digit scoring, 2 more players (Stokes and Anderson) have come on strong in the last 1/4 of the season, averaging around 15 points each.  But, what it really comes down to with Nova is whether Scotty Reynolds shows up to play.  Stokes and Reynolds have to get hot from deep and Antonio Pena and Dante Cunningham will both have to have double - double games (points/rebounds) playing on the post

As usual, free throw shooting and offensive execution will be the keys to Clemson's performance in the Big Dance.

I'm so very, very excited and very, very proud of the Tigers performance in the regular season and the ACC Tournament.  They proved that Clemson can play with the best teams in the country.

Coach Purnell has done a wonderful job and I feel like he will keep the team focused on their goals.

GO TIGERS!!!

I am absolutely amazed that most of you Clemson fans don't know anything at all about Nova when we have had tons of national exposure this year. We were ranked in the top 25 for the first half of the year before a 5 game losing streak in the middle of our season.

Our team revolves around sophmore Scottie Reynolds. Our resurgence in the latter half of the season was partly due to the fact that he was made to be a true point guard and brought some stability to our offense. Our offense itself is very guard oriented using penetration drives and kick-outs for open perimeter shots. We have a couple of decent post options in Pena and Cunningham, but for the most part, our team is small and centers around guard play. We shoot a whole lot of three pointers in most games and tend to live and die by the three a little too much.

We have struggled defending the three point shot and have struggled at times on the boards due to our size. However, I do not think Clemson's press will bother us since we have many good ball handlers in our backcourt. Should be interesting how our youth affects us in the tourney since we do not have a single senior in our rotation. If Clemson wins, it will be because of strong interior defense and consistent perimeter scoring. We have done a pretty good job shutting out big men from scoring but we have left the three point shots open as a result. Should be an interesting game......

I can honestly say Clemson is the only team we'll have to face on our way through the brackets that I have doubts we can beat.  It has been WAY too close each time!  I almost feel sorry for the rest of the teams in the Midwest - they have no idea what they're about to run into.  Almost.

There's a reason the ACC is considered the top conference in the nation and Carolina, Clemson, Miami, and Puke ( I mean d00k), are going to be tough to beat.

Here's a Tarheel that'll be rooting for the Tigers all the way up to the Semis!  Good luck!

You'll get to know us soon enough.  Make sure you guard Stokes as soon as he crosses half court becasue he's going to be chucking threes all day.  If he's hitting, we're gonna beat you!  If he's not, we're still gonna beat you becasue Reynolds, Clark, Fisher, Anderson, Redding and/or Grant will be.  Who knows, we may even have Cunningham or Drummand nail a three or two.

For all you ACC promoters, we were a clear 8 seed in the BE and you are a clear 3 seed in the ACC.  Why only favored by 6?  You know what this means?  The same as the ACC being ranked higher the the BE -- ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!

After the game, I'll be sure to offer you some salt to go with all those words that you'll be eating.
