As a casual observer of the Nats, I see Christian Guzman is hitting over .300 in spring training. Too bad he'll never be able to do that during the regular season.

I'd prefer to see that lazy pile of worthless dung get released. I think Felipe Lopez is a much better player. I hope Ian Desmond does well in AA or AAA and becomes the starter.

What do you Nats Fans think?

I think it's pretty unrealistic and unfair to judge Guzman at this point.  He has so many long-term injuries and hasn't had a full season since 2005 - which, I'll admit, was pretty awful.  However, everytime I've seen him since then, he's always added something to the offense and is consistently good on defense.  I'd like to see him have one more chance.

your crazy. guzman is better in almost every category, both offensively and deffensively. just look at his career stats, they arent too bad. he really is a .290-.300 hitter.

Guzman is alright at SS. The real kicker is Belliard looks to get the nod at 2B over Lopez.... no kidding??? What's the skipper thinking?

You are nuts.  Felipe Lopez is a bum.  Guzman needs to start at short and Belliard at second.  Belliard has more heart in his pinky than Lopez could ever have.  The last thing an up and coming team like the Nats need is a selfish "all talent" and no desire guy like Lopez.  Ship the bum to Baltimore.

I am not a fan of Lopez,  yet Belliard is better coming off the bench so I am confused as to why the competition was "open" from the begining.

None of these three will even be starters on this team when it makes its first playoff appearance.  So does it really matter?

I'm willing to give the Belliard/Guzman combination a try.  I am not a huge Lopez fan, and he re-enforced some of that last night in the loss to the Cardinals.
