everyone is talking about how UCLA has the easiest road to the final four... and being a fan of the team that might play them in the second round... it's kind of frustrating every time i hear it...
i hope we can prove them wrong with a miracle... or BYU... or whoever, i don't care!!! just someone!!! i hate it when media does this kind of thing
anyone else feel the same?

Mostly, they're referring to the fact that the 2 and 3 seed are Xavier and Duke who both are probably the worst of that particular seed. Most analysts figure the #1 seed will beat the 8/9 seed anyways so its nothing in particular towards us.

I feel the exact same way :/
But being an Aggie I have learned that no matter what, we will always be overlooked and will always be the underdog, which against UCLA no doubt we are, but still ... I don't like how the media always downplays us, but teams like UCLA and UNC, even Texas get all the recognition in the world.
Also I'm kinda tired of hearing hot Texas is so much greater than A&M even though Kansas beat us by 6 and them by 10 ... hmmm...

Too true. I don't know why but it seems to me that all teams like t.u. have to do is show up and they're expected to win, while we have to fight for respect. I know this is a basketball page, but I'll make a football reference. The last 2 years, they have come in highly ranked, while we aren't ranked. yet who has won?
Back to UCLA having the easiest road, it would seem that way, but I also think that they are the lowest #1 seed this year. Even before I saw that we could play them in the 2nd round, I voted in the recent poll that they would be the first #1 seed out. I have them losing to us because we are a very talented team that just happens to be flying under the radar. Of course, we don't need to be overlooking BYU, but is it worse to be considered a good team and a challenge, or to be underrated and an underdog?

They quickly forget how DeAndre Jordan schooled Love in the pre-season at the ABCD Camp.......
Has Jordan played up to his potential? Not really..... Has Love? You could easily say yes....
But it's all about individual match-ups & Jordan could very easily just so happen to match up very good with Love & that "COULD" free up Davis & Jones to wreak havoc on the rest of the UCLA bigs & anyone going into the paint....
Also if Jordan repeats his performance against Love on the offensive end also, he could free up other Ags & give them open looks... Hopefully J. Carter will be the one opened up & he can rain the 3's like last year....
I know, I know... we have to get past BYU... Blah, Blah, Blah.... I'm talking about A&M vs UCLA... BYU vs A&M can be for another thread....

^^^^ Agreed
Basically if A&M plays to their full potential, which they have not done all season, it could be a really good game. We were neck in neck with Kansas in the Big 12 tourney with Jordan only playing 4 minutes the whole game, and they are a number 1 seed ... just like UCLA. If everyone comes out and plays like they could, and if they really want to win I think it's pretty possible they could knock UCLA off. If everyone is going to overlook us, we might as well use it to our advantage and be a sleeper team. As for BYU, we shouldnt overlok them, but if we can beat the great and almighty Texas Longhorns (joking about that...) 80 to 63, I think we can take a Mountain West team with not much exp. playing good opponents.

For this tourney, it depends on which Aggie team shows up. What I like is that we are going dancing on some momentum. 2 BIG XII tourney wins and a close game against #1 KU makes me feel a little bit better about our chances.

Strauss, I hate to burst your bubble, but this BYU team does have experience playing good opponents. We played 6 tournament teams this season, including down to the wire games with North Carolina and Michigan State, as well as having beat 3 seed Lousville. This is not just going to be some easy MWC team you're playing. I'm not saying BYU is going to win, but trust me when I say, you won't be the best team we've played this season by far and I can absolutely assure you that BYU will not be intimidated by A & M.

from what i can tell BYU is tough... but i don't think losing games to North Carolina, Michigan State, and barely winning over Louisville compares to playing Texas, Kansas, Baylor, Kansas St., and Oklahoma... twice... and having one game under .500 for those teams...
and that's only in conference

Not to mention that North Carolina was not at full strength and Louisville also lost to Cincinnati and Seton Hall.
