Tejano- I dont think I would go that far :)

I think I understand what gigmags is trying to say. Sometimes it seems like Deandre interupts the flow of the game but hes a very talented rebounder and shot blocker when he wants to be. Our inside depth will be absolutely crucial against the Bruins, Davis will probably get in foul trouble and we'll need Elonu to suck up some fouls. This is a team (ucla) that you want to be physical with, and I have noticed that since the big 12 tourney our big guys have been getting in more foul trouble, but we have been playing better ball. Couincidence? I dont think so, sometimes fouls can be a good thing. Back to Jordan, we will need him in our deep front court rotation in this game. A lot of pressure will be put on the guards and Deandre will need to be money in the paint to relieve some of the guard pressure. Im lookin for 15-25 solid min. Lucky for us, the Bruins coach, who is a defensive genius, will only have 1 day to prepare, I think this helps us more strategy wise than them.

Lets face it, besides us and UCLA, we are in a guard dominated bracket. If we can somehow accomplish this duanting task, we should be able to dominate the Dukes, Xaviers, Drakes, and Purdues in the post. UCONN might be a tough one but I think we could win that as well. I know this is far down the line but you never know....

Awewsome pic Strauss!

Thankyou

until the last few years, A&M has been a very poor team.  Prior to the last few years the aggies hadn't been good since Shelby Metcalf was the coach and some of you are too young to even remember him.  Kansas and Texas have been solid performers in the tournament for a long long time.  Both have been to final fours and Kansas has won the whole enchilada.  Go deep in the tourney and attitudes will change.

Your really right about this. Even being a HUGE Aggie fan, and a student at A&M, I have to admit that we are just about where we should be among respect in basketball. I mean we have done pretty good over the last 3 years, but prior to that we were nobodys. Alot of Aggies complain about not being seeded high enough, or complain about being overlooked by teams like UCLA ... but in all honesty until we show that we are a good team, able to make it deep into the tourney a few years in a row, they will continue to do so. We actually should be enjoying this. Every time a team overlooks us, we sneak up on them and win. It's what we've done for the past 3 years, and we are gaining alot more respect from it, but at the same time it will take many more trips to the sweet 16 and better to get noticed as the "basketball power" we want to be. Someday we will be a big name like Kansas or UCLA, take my word for it, but it won't come tomorrow. It'll take some time.

Until then we need to BTHO ucla and everyone else we can to get a headstart on the road to basketball superpowerness

i feel that way. but i dont think they should count A&M out yet. A&M were in the AP top 10 at a point in this year and many of their losses were close. 5OT vs Baylor. And UCLA isnt all that good. They almost lost to Cal. the worst team in the Pac 10. In fact they should have lost that game and those other two vs Stanford. Those wins were luck because of the bad officiiating.

I agree that we can beat UCLA if we play them like we played in the Big 12 Tournament. I was just saying that overall, even if we beat UCLA tomorrow, we won't be considered great because alot of the big names in basketball still overlook us. I was saying it'll take more than beating UCLA in the second round to prove we should be up there with the big names. That is my realist side talking. My Aggie fan side says that we should be getting more respect than we have now because of our last 3 year resume, and that we will prove to everyone that we are a competitor after knocking of UCLA and everyone else who stands in the way of us getting to the Final 4.
