...and wonder what the people who made this mock draft are smoking. Why in the world would Buffalo draft a LB? Besides the glaring needs of CB, TE, and, duh, a #2 WR, here is Buffalo's LB corps:

Angelo Crowell OLB: By far the best on our team.
Paul Posluszny MLB: We traded up to grab him in the 2nd round last year.
Kawika Mitchell OLB: Just signed him from NYG for good money.

Not only is that a formidable LB corps, but we also have good depth with 2 LB's who saw a great deal of time last year and played well (Ellison and DiGiorgio).

Maybe the writers think Poz will go down again (and never get up?), or maybe that Buffalo is looking to move to a 3-4 (not a chance in hell). Either way, anyone that has Buffalo down as taking a LB can't have the slightest clue about the team. Or maybe I am missing something huge...?

Totally with you on this one.  I don't even follow the Bills and I know they're good to go at LB.  Maybe makes more sense to switch the Denver and Buffalo picks... though Denver needs more of a MLB than an OLB.  Though which WR do you like more for the Bills, Thomas, Jackson, Kelly, or Sweed?

completely agree.  i've seen rivers' name pop up a few times, and always thought it was a fragment of pre-FA mocks....  the prior CBS mock (post-FA) showed the Bills selecting rivers, and in the write-up acknowledged the trade for stroud but not the signing of mitchell.  i figured the authors of the mock were just lazy and made a mistake.  now with this updated mock, they add in the signing of mitchell, but keep the pick the same.  so i'm left with the conclusion that the author is not well educated about the bills.

as for an informed discussion - i'd rather not overpay for a WR.  I'd rather spend the money on a CB or pass-rush DE.  Then in the 2nd-3rd - select a WR (maybe trade-up into the late 1st for one of the remaining WRs - possibly Thomas, i dont know much about him other than he looks good getting off the bus) (or take Jordy Nelson in the 3rd).

I have to believe they would wait until round 2, and the key is a red zone threat (we have none). We would also have to assume Evans will be re-signed to a long term contract and the player drafted would compliment his style. If they went WR right away, from what I can gather it would be Sweed or Kelly, but with Buffalo you never know.

As far as who I like? This may sound funny, but with the way Buffalo has drafted the last 2 years, I want the guy they pick! I'm just not good enough to predict pro success out of the draft, but it seems Buffalo's front office is. I think the entire AFC East will have monster drafts with Parcells now in the mix. Hopefully we can compete.

Good call on the timing of each mock. I also think no one cares about the Bills (rightfully so as we have not made the playoffs in almost a decade). Marshall Faulk said we need to get a new LT. Apparently, he didn't realize our LT was named to the Pro Bowl, then claimed he meant RT. Apparently, he didn't realize we have a solid RT as well, and our major problems on the line would be C and RG, as they are average.

Well, while I loved Faulk as a player, he is horrendous analyst. Maybe I shouldn't debase this mock by bringing up Faulk. Maybe this was just an oversight. I don't give the benefit of the doubt, though, as our sports media is generally so bad.

Any Bills fan Knows we are taking either Limas Sweed or Malcolm Kelly, probably Kelly.

i agree
i think the Bills def. need a WR with their first pick

the only way i see them taking a LB is if gholston is still there
(which i seriously doubt)

Its hard to say that the Bills will take a receiver cause they are looking for an immediate impact and unfortunately the learning curve for a new receiver is about 2-3 years in the league before making an impact.  Bryant Johnson would have been a great fit, I would like to see them make a trade to acquire someone more game ready then draft another receiver in the first round.

I agree. I've seen a number of people projecting this and I just don't get it. First, LB just isn't our biggest need. Second, who are we looking to replace? Mitchell or Crowell? It doesn't make sense. Mitchell was brought in to start, and Crowell is a rising star. We need a WR or CB in the first. TE in the second (or maybe even in the first). I'm fine with adding an LB later in the draft fro depth, but it just seems like a waste of a first rounder for us.
