The doom and gloom will now be all over talk radio is Dallas....This team has guts and heart and will be someone that no one wants to play if they can just get to the playoffs!!

Mu guess is Dirk misses 3 games minimum...

The Mavs have been struggling against good teams ever since Kidd got there, and now, with Nowitzki out and Denver on a hot streak, even a few games could be enough to cost them a playoff spot in the West.  The West is too tough to lose your main player, much less last year's MVP, and still compete in the stretch run.

Although you never want to see a player hurt, this does bode well for my Hornets.

Guts and heart?   How about no class.  See Trashhouse's action.   Not a Spurs fan but his actions were totally uncalled for.   Typical Mav's behavior so it should not have been a surprise.  When they lose, they make excuses and act like that.

No, Dirk will not miss only 3 games.  He's expected to miss as early as two weeks.  That is going to be at least 8 games!  He'll be back 3 games before the playoffs but it might be too late.  Now it is Josh Howard's turn to step up.  People have been debating that this kid might be the best player on this Mavericks team.  They are still 0-8 facing teams over 500 with Jason Kidd.

I laughed when the Mavs and Marc Cuban pushed so hard for the Kidd trade.  He said they wanted to get a championship now but I think most people knew that adding Kidd wouldn't  improve them enough in the West.  Not only that, but they traded away their future as well.  It is going to be an interesting next couple of years for the Mavs.

For some reason, I think the Mavs will still make the playoffs. I expect the core group of guys on this team to rally together and win the games they need to win to hang on to a playoff spot (even if it is the 8th). The replays probably made the fall look much worse than it was, but from someone who studies exercise science....it wasn't good. No way he comes back in 3 games. I would say he takes the full 2 weeks if not more.

I hope Dirk has a complete recovery and the Mavs can hang on to stay in the playoffs. They are a quality team and can make the playoffs even more fun to watch. (This is coming from a Suns fan by the way.)

Really bad time for an injury, but I guess their's no good time!  I still think the Mavs will make it to the playoffs but maybe in the 8th seed.  At least the Mavs are playing the Clippers soon.
