I think Kobe needs to understand that him scoring 50+ points doesn't mean a win for the Lakers.  If Kobe would get the other guys warmed up early in the game then they would be ready to score later on in the game.   I have to question picking Kobe for MVP while he doesn't have a big man in the line-up.

I completely agree with the fact that the Lakers losing to the Bobcats then the Grizzlies is totallt unacceptable, it pissed me off. They should have won both those even if Kobe was not playing along with the others that are injured. Had Kobe not scored what he did last night they would have lost by at least 15. The other players simply could not hit anything, even wide open. Lamar had the flu so that may have played a part in him not being able to be as aggresive as he would have liked. Do I think the Lakers better shape up, whether or not they get injured players back soon, yes, they showed they can compete without them. Am I worried about them going into the playoffs, no, they will only get better.

The Lakers are not the team to beat. Give me a break. I think it is fare to say that the Spurs are the team to beat. Nobody is talking about them and all they are going to do is end up with the #1 spot in the West! Oh yeah, they also are the reigning Champions! Laker fans, NOBDOY was talking about you or Kobe for MVP until Gasol arrived. Yeah you are a good team when healthy, but your not healthy and you are starting to fall.

The Cavs have been injured all season long and Lebron is still putting up much better all around numbers than Kobe with less talent. Sure the East sucks, but arguably the two best teams in the NBA are in the East. The Cavs will finish in the 4th spot with home court for the first round and be a tough out against anyone they play. I like our chances with Lebron in a 5 or 7 game series. Oh yeah, Lebron vs Kobe head to head, Lebron is 2-0. He was 2-0 last year too. Lebron for MVP!!!! Best all around player in the game!!!!!

One more fan that decides what happened in a game by the box score.  If you had actually watched the game you would have realized that Kobe started that game on fire. He had 21 pts in the first quarter and at one point had 47 pts in 20 min played.  But they were still down by a basket. The Lakers are pretty banged up right now.  They are limping on the backs of there reserves. Everybody knows about the big injuries to Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, and Kobe Bryants pinky on his shooting hand that requires surgery. But few of you would know at game time that Derek Fisher has a new torn ligament in his foot. But would need to play anyways because of the short bench. And that Lamar Odom has the flu. They are so banged up now that they suited Chris Mihm who has been on the injured list for 2 years, so that he could help out in the middle. How could you know that by looing at a box score. The Lakers had Mihm and Mbenga playing center for them. Mbenga was picked up on a 10 day contract about a month and a half ago and has stuck arround because of the attrition. Never really playing many minutes though. When you realize all of this, you will find out that the Lakers were only  playing with 6 players. Mbenga fouled out in a hurry, Mihm only played a few minutes, and the only other big man was Turiaf. And he was in foul trouble. This made Darko Milicic look like an all star. And left the Lakers with 4 small fowards and point guards that usually ride the bench shooting a lot of 3 pointers. They shot a team record 45 3 pointers last night. You mention Kobe's 1 assist as being the reason they lost. Kobe should have had 25 assists last night.  While his scoreing rampage continued, he started to get triple teamed. He constantly found the outlet, only to watch them brick. Kobe was 19 of 37 last night. His teamates were 22-67. They took 104 shots in that game. And in the end they still had a chance with a second left to tie the game. But Luke Walton couldn't get the ball inbounds and didn't call a time out. Shame on Kobe Bryant for being the best player in the world, his teams MVP, and the leagues MVP. He got snubbed a couple of years ago because they were not a playoff team. Now they have 49 wins and are decimated with injuries. And they are treading water on the back of there MVP.

Well that was a whole bunch of pointless blaaaaaaaaabbbb!  All i see is excuses.  If you want to know why you lost you CAN look in the box score and see  you let the Memphis Grizzlies (a 45% shooting team) shoot just a hair under 50%.  You also CAN see that yall jacked up 45 three pointers.  You also seem to have a hard time holding teams under 100 pts.  Just like the box score shows, you CAN see yall gave up 114 to a team that averages 100pts a game.  Those facts are all in the box score so you CAN take a look there and see why the Lakers lost.  What is NOT in the box score is all the crying about injuries, they are part of the game and champions play through them and find ways to win, not complain and make excuses.  It still has yet to be decided who will be a champ this year but you must believe that you can win even with  players out  and it just aint bout believing, you must have guys that can step up and fight and do what the team needs.  Kobe did what he could last night, everyone else just crapped it up.  I always say this " Defense wins championships", even if you cant hit a shot to save your life you should take pride in holding your man..........no one on the Lakers did that, not even YOUR MVP!

Given the way the Lakers and Kobe came into the season, I think expectations have already been met.  I'm not a Kobe fan, but he has to get props for the season he's had.  With all the talent on the floor this team is definitely one of the best this year, unfortunately,  they've been bitten hard by the injury bug at the worst time of the year as well.

Kobe wins many more games than he loses for this team but with success comes haters as these messages boards prove on a regualr basis.

Laker fans on the one hand you say when the team looses it's not Kobe's fault because the players around him are no good.  But on the other hand, you say you have the deepest and most talented roster in the league.  Well if you truly are so deep and talented, you should be able to withstand injury better than any team in the league particularly when you the guy who is clearly the best player in the league leading you.  So what's the problem, Kobe or the depth?  It's got to be one or the other, because if both are the best in the league, you wouldn't have lost back to backs to charlotte and memphis at home

Chris Paul should get MVP.  Does KG deserve it too?  Absolutely, but Chris Paul IS the Hornets.

Kobe's  a great scorer.  Hell, maybe he'll go down as the greatest scorer of all time... he's certainly capable.  But he's not a great teammate and certainly not MVP
