I personally think that Rodgers will suffer his fair share of ups and downs, but that his supporting cast is good enough to keep this team in the 9-10 win territory and in the playoffs.

That being said, I am a little nervous about his durability as he was oft-injured back in his days at Cal and has been banged up a few times in his young pro career so far. Can anybody name our back-up quarterbacks? I know I can't, so I would like us to try and bring in a veteran to give us a little bit of depth. Otherwise this years quarterback class is fairly deep. Grabbing a player like Andre Woodson, who was being mentioned as a 1st-2nd rounder earlier in the season, in the 3 or 4 round or maybe a player like Henne in the later rounds is necessary for this team.

I actually think Aaron will do a much better job then most people think, sure his short history in the NFL shows that he has been injured often, but there are no major injuries that are going to affect the way he plays.

He's not being asked to carry this team like Brett always thought he had to do, I think he is smart and confident enough (just from hearing him speak at the conference) to take this team to where they were last year maybe even better,

either way, at this point in the post-Favre Era, I can't think of anybody else I would want leading the Packers other then Aaron Rodgers, maybe my expectations of him are too high in some peoples' opinion, but I'm confident he's not going to let the PACK down

Just saw a picture of him and he needs to hit the weight room.  He looks skinny, i'd be surprised if he could survive a 16 game season....

Rodgers is alot like Jake Plummer. Dont be fooled by pictures, hes actually a pretty solid guy. Good arm strength, and extremely accurate. The only knock is that he has been fragile ala Pennington. I think if Rodgers is healthy the Packers will be very good at QB. He does run alot more than Favre which will give the Packers that added dimension again like when Favre was younger. Packers 9-7 in Rodgers first year as starter.

I met Rodgers and talked to him for a bit last year at the Packers tailgate bus tour.  I came away from that thinking that Rodgers was bigger in person than he looks on TV, and Nick Barnett is smaller in person than he looks on TV.  I think Jake Plummer is probably a good comparison.  I'm not too worried about his durability.  It's rough for any first-year starting qb, so I'll be thrilled with 8-8, which could very well win the NFC North next year.

i think he'll do fine. obviosly he wont be able to make some of the throws brett could, but he will be a decent quarterback. the pack has a tougher schedule this year playing the afc south but i see them winning 9 or 10 games. rodgers will throw for a little over 3,000 yards and about 23 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. im looking forward to what he can do on a regular basis. lets hope he can just stay healthy.

The best thing that Rodgers needs to do is be his own quarterback. There are going to be a lot of critics saying "Oh, Brett could have done this" or "Brett would have known what to do". He cannot get caught up in the fact he's replacing one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time. He needs to play his style. Let's face it. There is only one Brett Favre. Rodgers needs to make the point there is only one Aaron Rodgers. Based on the talented receiving corpse, if the line plays solid, and Grant runs well, this team can win at least 10 games.

I think he'll go 4-2 and be out with injuries for the other 10 games.  Not in a row just all together.

I think Aaron Rodgers is taking too much criticism for a guy that hasn't even been given a real chance yet. He has a nice supporting cast and plays in a relatively weak division, so I think he is set up for success. With that said, if he struggles in this environment, or has injury troubles, I think the Packers will then look at adding a QB to the fold. But I think Rodgers will do fine.
