Someone please give this man a MAP! Cole Aldrich played in the TWIN CITIES, next to the MALL OF AMERICA...perhaps Dodd has heard of that. No hicks. No sticks.

The hicks went back to North Carolina. Nothing could be finer than a LOSS by Caroliner!

Honestly, he went to Bloomington Jefferson highschool. Bloomington is a 2nd ring suburb of Minneapolis. The population of Bloomington alone is 84,000. The Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area has 3 million people.

Not excactly the styx.

Okay, so maybe the Twin Cities aren't the Styx, but you sure have to spend a lot of time in the Styx to get there....

As for the hicks going back to North Carolina, think again. The Triangle metro area may be smaller in population (1.6 million), but it is among the best educated population in the US. Not exactly a requirement for "hicks".

Congrats Kansas.

And yes, I've been to Minneapolis/St. Paul. I'll bet it's nice in the summer, but I feel for anyone that has to live there during the fall/winter transition, like I was. Miserable. Give me North Carolina any day.

This Aldrich kid can flat out play. Nothing 'hick' about Minnesota basketball. Too bad Munson was the coach up there; if Tubby had been around, maybe Aldrich wouldn't have chosen KU.

Hicks and sticks referred to individuals. But if you must compare the Triangle to the Twin Cities, 1.6 mil in that area to 3 mil in Twin Cities, and BOTH areas could be argued that you have to go through sticks.

But for sticks and individual players, why say that about Aldrich who ISN'T from the sticks, and not Hansbrough, who is most DEFINITELY from the sticks. Where he's from in Missouri, they have to import sticks to HAVE sticks!

At any rate, the writer of the story has no idea about sticks and where Aldrich is from.

UNC and KU are CLASS programs with CLASS coaches. It was a great game and GO HAWKS!

I'm from the sticks and proud of it.  Appalachia!  My town has a booming 3,000 people and one stop light.  The triangle area here is between my town, and two others and I would venture in that whole region we're talking over 15,000 people.  No small potatoes there!!!!
