This was a huge win for the Flyers. They went from playing a great team in the Canadiens to playing the Capitals. GO FLYERS!

First off - You're an idiot. IF they lose this game in regulation, they end up being the 8th seed and the Penguins finish in 1st.  So then the Flyers would have to play the Penguins again and probably lose in 5 or 6 games....

Second - it was a HUGE game for the first reason - not the fact they would play Mtl.   Washington is super hot and hopefully they can also be cooled off - just a bit... Ovechkin showed this year just how good he can be and he's just getting to the best years... next year he'll have 75 goals (just my guess).  In the playoffs, he will be a one man wrecking machine but hope they still don't win a round.. (Flyers fan here).

Third - I sure hope Biron can handle the pressure of the playoffs... maybe the fact he has not been there has him focused already b/c the Pens and Devils are teams that have given them/him trouble all year long - and beyond too!

Fourth - GO FLYERS!!!!!!

They would've played the Pens if they lost. As much as I enjoyed seeing the Flyers beat the Penguins, as we really did was make their first round easier. Ottawa has been ina downward spiral for weeks and will be without Daniel Alfredsson.

I'm not sure I'd be too excited about facing the red-hot Capitals right now.  Maybe their lack of playoff expericnce will hurt them and Philly can win, but I don't think anybody wants to face Washington right now.

And the Flyers really screwed up my poor Bruins, who now have to play Montreal, a team they have lost 10 straight against, and who knocked us out in the first round a few years back when we were the top sedd in the East.  I just hope we can repay the favor.

But here's to a great playoff year, no matter who wins!

You need to pay attention.  The Flyers had no chance of playing the Canadiens

The only 2 teams the Flyers were playing in the playoffs going into today...were the Penguins and the Capitals.

Also the Capitols are hot right now...Im getting scary flashbacks (although i know its 2 different sports and situations) to the Phillies v  Rockies  matchup from last year

Two quick thoughts....

1. its nothing like the rockies phillies because there was no break ... both teams have to sit for 5 days (first game is Friday) ...

2.Even tho the Caps are HOT as hell right now theres no way that you want the Pens....they are Heads and tails above the caps with way more talent and experience then the caps and three of the better players Hossa, Malkin, Cosby

The Pens played, but they weren't trying to win this as if it were a playoff game.  Main proof = Crosby not playing.  They want the slumping Senators in the 1st round.  Save the rivalry game for later on in the playoffs, if the Flyers can make it past the HOT Capitals who have home-ice advantage.  Don't shrug of the Caps like they are nothing.

my comparisson was just to how hot the rockies were...not the time off that they have.

And 5 days is nothing...it will take away no momentum from either team.
