Pominville might have been the best US born player in the NHL this season, but I do not think that one good season can give you the title as the best in your Nation.
Guys like Mike Madano and JR are still playing, and they have been two of the best for a number of years. Other young players, like Eric Cole and Patrick Kane are also developing talents much like Pominville.
I lean towards Erik Cole, mostly for what he does on special teams and the way he plays hard hitting hockey. This guy's return in the Cup finals after a sever neck injury was special.
Patrick Kane will be the best starting next year!
Why does the USA have so many players not born in the US?
Brett Hull
Patrick Eaves
Chris Holt
Mike Knuble
Richard Park
Paul Stastney
Yan Stastney
I can't find a list of retired players, so I am unsure of more than Brett Hull... Seems that alot of players may jump to teamUSA after they cannot make team Canada?
