they'll be good no matter what

i don't care what people think, recruits are attracted to Kansas because of it's name in College Basketball.  They will always have enough depth at starters and on the bench to be a serious contender

however, i don't think they will be as good next year

I live in Durham Nc but I read somewhere today that Rush is thinking about staying another year. From my understand this is coming from a source close to the Rush family. If this is ture I think that Arther is going to stay as well.

Rush and the other players are thinking at making a rund like the Gators did in the 05-06 season and the 06-07 season.

That would be awesome but Rush has made comments within past few months about how is draft spot is raising.  Man it would be awesome if all eligible players stayed.  May be rocky start but by tourney time I think we could be awesome.

This would be great!!!!!!!!!

Who knows what will happen. If the underclass men do stay I would have to say that Kansas will be the Preseason #1 and will be the favs to win again. I think they could do have really have a stamp on Kansas basketball history.

With the draft being what it is this year I think that it would help him to stay another year to up is status more and the same ith Arther. Both and ballers and one more year wont hurt.

Like I said, this is not confrimed, its nothing but a rumor right now, but sources close to the rush family they want him to say in school and he is thinking about it.

Lets see Collins, Chalmers, Rush, and Arthur...... its a big stretch but they could come back for another chance at another one and they have some solid recruits coming in but i think Texas will be the class of the big 12 next year they are in my preseason top 5 for next year.

KU will definetley be good next year just not what they were this year, but heck this is maybe the best team KU's ever had. We need Mario back next year though.

Here's my starting lineup and rest next year...

G Mario Chalmers

G Sherron Collins

G/F Mario Little

F Marcus Morris

C Cole Aldrich

Off the Bench, Markieff Morris, Tyrone Appleton, Quintrell Thomas, and possibly Tyrel Reed or Travis Releford.

Depth will be a big strength for KU next year like it was this year.

This line up has final 4 implications. Anything can happen after that.

Two words for next years recruiting class, TYRONE APPLETON! The kid is sick.

Chances of Rush coming back, zero percent. The team will be damn good next year. Loaded with new talent, PLUS, Brady Morningstar was redshirted this year for just this reason. Collins will be there, but I could see Chalmers leaving. This may be his best chance. Assume Chalmers stays, Collins, Chalmers, Morningstar, Releford, and Appleton is a serious group of talent at guards.  Releford and Morningstar may be seeing limited action, but grooming like Aldrich got this year against those other guys.

I've only been aware of the 5 recruits, until yesterday I read KU landed Appleton, and I was absolutey pumped. Exactly what they needed. He's like Russell Robinson but a more consistent scorer.

The Morris twins I'm still up in the air about. They could end up being Wayne Simien and Nick Collison, or they could end up being Eric Chenoweth and Scott Pollard. Who knows. The other players will fill rolls next year. Solid team next year. If Chalmers, Collins, and Aldrich all return. This team wins 30 again. No way Rush returns. If he does KU is easily preseason # 1.

My persoanal opinion is they will rule the Big 12 as usual with the blue chippers they have coming they will be ok. I've been not only a jayhawk fan but a college b-ball fan for over 40 years. Rush and Arthur if they have any sense should return they have a few areas of their game they need to improve. There are over 300 d-1 teams and i would bet the world that on each team some kid is being told you can be drafted if you come out early.......... now thats 300 players not counting seniors and foriegn players for 90 draft spots you do the math. Rush ball handling skills are decent as best as he will have to play shooting guard is he ready for kobe, labron, carter and the like.... i don't think so. Arthur most stop being lazy and bulk up and work on his midrange game. If either one of them were taking over a game on a constant basis such as beasley, pyscho t, curry or cdr i say go for it. And yes i understand ku's system really doesn't call for indiviuals to shine but i don't see it in them. Chalmers is the only underclassmen for ku i see as a nba type player. He has a decent jumpshot, quick hands, can handle the rock and he has major ups. Compare those who come out early to those who stay for 4 years and i'm sure those who stayed outnumber and have more productive careers in the nba than those who leave early.

If everyone stays, that's gonna make one helluva lineup.

Mario Chalmers
Brandon Rush
Sherron Collins
Darrell Arthur
Cole Aldrich

And then if these recruits are really what everyone is saying, this will be one helluva team.  What other big guys do we have though?  Don't think we'll be able to 4-deep on the big men like we did this year.

KU was VERY good this year! Congratulations to a great team and the best fans in college basketball.

I was there and I'm still stunned, but KU made so many great plays with the game on the line and certainly

took advantage of our hospitality- lol

All the best ROCK CHALK and we will see you down the road...

If Rush and Arthur stayed, KU would perhaps have more future NBA players on its roster than maybe any team in history. Rush, Chalmers, Collins, Arthur, Aldrich, and probably a couple of the recruits. How would Bill Self find PT for all of those guys? Sure, KU might be a favorite to repeat, but would that be too much talent for even Bill Self to balance?

I think Rush and Arthur are going pro....I'm not sure on Chalmers but I'm hoping he'll stay. With this in mind, I think you will see a team that might struggle a little bit early to gel with each other as there will be a lot of new faces, but they will start to mesh by conference play and make another run at the Big 12 Title. They have some serious talent coming in next year...Someone correct me if I'm wrong.....Xavier Henry is in the class of 2009 and is considering Memphis and Kansas right???

My persoanal opinion...... is merely sentiment, and pretty poorly informed.
Compare those who come out early to those who stay for 4 years and i'm sure those who stayed outnumber and have more productive careers in the nba than those who leave early. This opinion, of which you're sure, is just plain not so.  College degrees are possessed by only a small minority of NBA players.  The rarity is even more pronounced among those with one or more all-star appearances.  Many who leave college early are ill-advised, or ignore the advice they get and end up being drafted late, if at all.  The other side of the same token shows that players assured of first-round status in the draft, regardless of years in college, can be confident of a productive (and lucrative) career, barring injury.
