I've watched all of the youtube replays of Collin's steal, not one of them shows him "stepping clearly out of bounds" not a one. From every angle, and slow motion, pause and reverse. Believe me it he had stepped out of bounds there would have been some definite proof, not just your word.
Laettner v Kentucky was a regional game not the final four, doesn't apply here. If Calipari had called a time out and Chalmers would have subsequently made a 3 point shot to tie the game, you would be asking "why did he call a time out?"
Collins didn't go sailing 15', from a foul from Rose. Just another exagerration for emphasis on your part that he should have received a foul call from the refs. There is no reference to the fact that Rose threw up his arms to the officials to indicate he didn't foul Collins. Also Collins was able to pass the ball to Chalmers, so I guess he wasn't fouled as bad as you would want us to believe.
You bring up a Memphis collapse when it comes to rebounding, but you forget to mention that Kansas was just as bad shooting beyond the three point line, which kind of cancels out any type of Memphis collapse you want to illuminate with their rebounding. One cancels out the other.
Down the stretch free throw shooting? Have you forgotten that Calipari said they make their free throws when they count. When your the 331st free throw shooting team in the nation, missing free throws in the National Championship game shouldn't be considered a collapse. It should be considered a collapse if they knew how to make a free throw to begin with then missed 4 out of 5.
You bring up that Rose had a point taken from him because the officials reviewed his shot and appropriately gave him two points, for what was definitely a two point shot. Is this part of the great Memphis collapse that Rose wasn't given 3 points for making an obvious 2 point shot? You have a sneaker a foot and a half in side the three point line, don't expect to get credit for 3 points, it's a 2 point shot. No collapse here.
Btw, its Phog Allen Fieldhouse, not Fog.
