That's right Steve. Keep faith alive. Keep singing the Eldrick tune up until the point at which he is impossibly out of it. But until then, you keep the faith. Your tortoise and hare analogy falls flat here Steve. Woods is a notorious front runner (see hare), not a notorious come from behind player (see tortoise). In fact, Woods has never come from behind on Sunday to win a major. So much for the silly tortoise story. Every single major that Woods has won, he has played the role of the hare, and left the field to catch him on Sunday. Finally, here's something else about the old tortoise. Having logged many driving miles through most of the U.S. and Europe, I've seen a lot more tortoises squashed on the road, than hares. There's something to be said for being able to move when you have to, instead of waiting for others to move. Nice try with the column Steve, but nobody's buying it. I'll take the hare every time in a golf tournament, especially if that hare happens to be one of the top ranked players. You take the tortoise, and watch out for traffic.

I think the fact that he has won the Masters 4 times but has never been the leader after round 1 debunks what you are saying.

Ok, so Tiger has never won coming from behind on Sunday. But that's hardly the case when trailing after Thursday. There is still plenty of time for him (right now a tortois) to become the hare and blow them away on Sunday. Hence, slow start.
