With Moody recording over 100 yards and Rainey playing pretty well, it seems that UF will have some go-to-guys in the backfield. Hopefully this will take some of the pressure off Tebow to run (and therefore prevent injury) and allow Harvin to be used more tactically (as a WR and taking individual guys).
By the way, 4.24 40 yard from Rainey - that's crazy. I know the guy's only 177 pounds but still that's some serious gas - Chris Johnson got 4.26 at the Combine.
Still it's the defense that needed solidifying - have to question the defensive line strength in a strong SEC.

What was up with FLA's Wr's today? I mean they seemed like they couldnt catch anything. More so Cooper I think his name is, I mean are a lot of them hurt or something? That was really the only area i thought that needed to the most work, Other than that. Back up QB Newton REALLY needs to work on his touch and accuracy.

I'm just glad to see someone who can actually hold onto the rock and not be fumble prone like Moore..........

What was up with FLA's Wr's today? Our best few receivers didn't play, and the receivers on the orange side, as you saw, had no chance to show anything with Cam Newton's passing today. That's one position I'm definetely not worried about.

yes, the 2 receivers whom have already secured a starting spot were both injured, along with one of the 2 real competitors for the 3rd spot, as well as our #1 te

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here, I understand the WR's taking the day off but at the same time rainey looked good in the open field but he has a history of injuries and moody can't hold on to the ball... not too bad overall against that defensive line which could be average at best in the SEC.
lucky to get miami before they gel but at the same time there is an old SEC rival at the middle of the schedule that if UF isn't 100% healthy for we walk through them again.

easy there dawg fan... this is still spring practice after all. the WRs taking the day off is not really the case, so much as it was the bottom half of our WR corps getting poor throws from cam newton or getting themselves out of position on a few routes (especially in the first half). and average D-line performance? besides moody tearing up the blue team D on the first drive in the 3rd quarter (and that costly fumble from a beautiful helmet-on-the-ball hit from byran thomas), carlos dunlap looked like a nightmare in the making for SEC def. coordinators, and the middle of the line still has the rest of the summer to put on some extra weight and muscle, not to mention look forward to the arrival of nose tackle omar hunter, meyer's well-publicized favorite catch of this year's class.
and don't make me laugh about da U. name three players on that team who will give the gators headaches this season... in the swamp. this is a team that lost to UNC last year. ouch. i can't see them hanging around for four quarters with a gators team that a lot of people expect to put up around 40 points a game.
i can't wait to play the dawgs this year, and think that it should be one of the better games in the country this season and will hopefully remind the rest of the country what a great rivalry the dawgs/gators have going on. hope your dawgs start strong again so they can get that familiar feeling of having their nat'l championship hopes squashed by the gators again
go gators, can't wait 'til august!!!

walk through us?
cmon lets not get too cocky here. a 12 point win is solid, but dont pretend that you guys did it with little effort.
honestly, last years win over us and bulldogs seem to forget the last 20 years...
this years contest will be huge without a doubt, as both teams are better than last. but im looking for this new Gator defense to keep that Bulldog offense under 28pts. in which case we win comfortably.
if it turns into a shootout then its anyones call.

I'm not worried about UGA at all. We will dominate them with speed. Who on the UGA team can keep up with a kid that runs a 4.24 fourty? yea, no one! Don't forget that Percy Harvin is the fastest guy on the team and will be 100% come summer workouts. And you also can't forget that at least five other playmakers run faster than a 4.4 fourty with another freshman recruit coming in that just recorded the 6th fastest 100meter time in world history for a high school athlete. So......who's going to cover this much speed? and when you try, who's going to guard against Tebow and our plethera of RB's running the ball? Yea, that's right, no one!! We will score fifty points on you guys and win easily by 2-3 TD's.
Besides Knowshown Moreno, who will beat us? A mediocre QB? not gonna happen. Carlos Dunlap will eat Moreno alive. Our Defense, especially the secondary has turned their game around a full 180 degrees. Maybe they didn't look that great today. But did you ever stop to think that it might have been because the starters were spread out on both teams? Our D-line isn't the strong point for this team, but with the addition of 5* Omar Hunter and a couple others they will be just fine.
