So what do you guys think?  One line team or terrific defense?  We played like a team today, while you guys were individual players.  Were getting under your skin and in your heads.  Scottie Upshall, Scott Hartnell, Mike Richards.  It's plain and simple that were the better team.  You wouldn't know that because the media is hoping Washington and Pitttsburgh win.  If they had their way, Washington and Pittsburgh would play in the cup finals.  You are going to need the practice tomorrow to get past our team game.

**SIGH!** here we go again! one-player team, one guy, newbie fans, blah, blah, blah...

I'll give ya the game. The Flyers passing was surgical, and your coaches did a great job of assembling a plan on some of our old game film.

...but it was only one game! NOW who's the jackass' prancing around like they won the cup? It would seem that we're the ones under your skin? Why is it we exude such rancor from you guys? The series is tied. Anyone who called for a sweep either way---IMO---was diluted. Your homers can enjoy the spoils for the next 49 hours---we're the better team all-the-way-around, we have real long-time fans ( most of whom have brand new accounts! ), ect...

But where's this "media" that wants us to win it all? Not NBC! Those phillie-centric cheerleaders need facemasks the way they were brown-nosing you guys the whole game. I thought I was listining to a 3 hour Flyers pre-game show. How boring.

You are going to need the practice tomorrow to get past our team game.

THAT one, I'll give ya mate. And this one is going 6, maybe all 7. Early slam downs have a nasty habbit of biting one in the arse!

I agree it will go 7. But the Flyers dominated the Caps in both games except for the 3rd period of game 1 when we went into prevent type defense. Is gonna be great series and we'll see who ends up the victor!

I don't think the Flyers dominated game 1.  I do think they dominated the end of the first, and the start of the second.  I think the Caps started strong, and owned the end of the game.

Game 2 was a different story.  The Caps really did not look good, and the Flyers did.  I think it will be a good/great series, but there is no way I'm giving up after one bad game.

Flyers1218 is right about one thing, sort of. The NHL and the network would love nothing better than to have Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby in the final. The NHL needs a massive boost of PR, and that type of final would be just what they need. They would market the hell out of that one. It's all about money folks, so if it appears the network might be a little biased, I guarantee you behind the scenes they're very biased. I'm a Capitals fan, but I'm no dummy. Money talks.

Want a non-hockey example? TV ratings for golf go up 40% when Tiger Woods is in the hunt. Michael Jordan drew the most casual fans to the TV when he was on. Every league needs star power, the NHL needs it more than most right now.

You have a point, Caps started strong in 1st period. Flyers went into bad plan in 3rd and paid for it. Will enjoy the rest of series.

I didn't really hear the announcers today, Dake, but if they were praising the Flyers, it was the first time all year.  Every time they've been on national TV, the Flyers have been raked over the coals.  I know how you feel though, because every time Pittsburgh plays, the announcers bring out their black and yellow kneepads and put them to good use.

The whole thing about newbie fans is kind of dumb, IMO.  Yes you guys have alot of new fans, and I'm sure you have alot of longtime fans.  Obviously Ovechkin has brought alot of excitement to a franchise that hasn't had any in awhile.  But I think there are more newbie Pittsburgh fans than newbie Caps fans, and the Pens fans think they're God's gift to sports.  You guys are, for the most part, fun to go back and forth with.  I'm really enjoying this series, and alot of it has to do with the fact that I'm not hearing "you don't like him cuz you're jealous" every third sentence.

Well Nate, y'all have every right to bang your chests and howl...for about the next 41 hours! Watch these teams swap wins every-other-game. Wouldn't surprise me a bit. But as I've written, your passing last night was a clinic and reminded me of that Lightning squad that won the cup acoupla back. Look what they had...a group of kids with a vet or two who gelled, and a stud netminder. All ya really need, right? I see that the Devils ( home team has yet to win ) and the Bruins ( home team has yet to lose ) have clawed back into thier series.

I go back to what bigblueliner wrote a few days ago that it's a real shame that the two hottest teams in the EC are essentialy canceling each other out right off the bat. This really could be a second, even third round match-up. I'm concerned and confident at the same time. What we saw was awesome by the Flyers. Yet, don't count out Gabby to cook-up a killer plan of his own. Weird. This really is a great series...

I wouldn't be surprised to see that either, Dake.  Although I wonder how the Caps will deal with an entire building cheering AGAINST them.  The Wachovia Center in a playoff game is the loudest place I've ever been to.  I'm not saying the Caps will fold or blow it, it's just that when they've heard alot fo cheering, it's usually been for them.  They have some pretty good veterans who have been through it before, but for guys like Mike Green, Backstrom, Ovechkin and Semin, this is the first playoff game for them outside their own arena.  I would not be surprised to see them a little off balance the first game.  Not Ovechkin so much as the other guys, they showed Sunday that they can be rattled.  I hope they are all off balance, but maybe it's a false hope.  I think this is your first true test to see how good of a team you are, playing an away playoff game.

The Rangers won 7 out of 8 regular season games against the Devils, and took that dominance into the first 2 games.  I think that's a series that will go to 7 games.

I hope Biron's as good tomorrow as he was yesterday.  Huet didn't do half-bad himself.  We should have blown that game open, he was the only reason we didn't.
