FSN's Greenlay being such a homer? I get that he's a Wild fan, and most color guys are. But c'mon you're paid to be professional, not to whine. We all saw that the officiating was suspect and we were getting hosed on a call or five, but please... Another poster had an excellent point, that the touch up icing that Greenlay was so adament about when Foster went down, won us Game 3.

It could be worse, I am from Minnesota but have lived in Texas for 5 years and I am forced to watch the games on Versus, watching last nights game I got the feeling both announcers were rooting for Colorado, they talk about Sakic like he's GOD, they get very excited when Colorado has scoring chances and ho-hum when the Wild do. These guys are not suppose to be pulling for any team they are a national broadcast team not local.
On a side note maybe I am being a bit of a homer but it sure did seem like the refs were giving Colorado every chance they could to win last night.
Go Wild!!!
Peace...

Funny, I really thought the same thing last night. I agreed about the crappy calls, but he sounded like a whinny fan versus an announcer.

I agree with all of you. I too have really lost interest in listening what Greenlay has to say because it is so biased. I understand you work for the Wild and you want to cheer for them, but he sounds like a big baby and was just waiting to blame the officials if the Wild had lost. I agree with you as well that the officiating was awful, but the Wild overcame it and still got the W. I would rather listen to the Red Wings or God forbid the Colombus announcers when Greenlay acts this way.

Let's get Doug Woog in there. He has better quotes than Bush
But yeah, in all seriousness, FSN really lacks a good broadcaster for hockey. Maybe Wes Walz would be up for it, at least he knows hockey.
Except Woog, he is the man.

Couldn't agree more with you. Hands down the worst announce team in the league. I wish we could watch the games nationally. My biggest peeve is that stupid Hee Haw Greenlay and Kevin Gorg do during intermissions. Unwatchable. Greenlay might be worse than Joe Sensor.
A quick rating of our great states broadcasters.
Vikings: PA and Dean Dalton or Pete Bersich whoever.Terrible. As good as PA is at Cantabury and he is great, he's worse at calling football. Biased, screamer, loud. You have talent, use it. Dalton or Bersich (whichever, I can't tell them apart.) are an upgrade to Sensor. Anyone would be.
T-Wolves: Henneman and Jim Peterson might be the class of MN broadcasters. Wow our sporscasters must be terrible. I can't get 107 at my house so I can't comment on radio. Billy McKinnie, I'm guessing poor.
Wild: As bad as TV is Radio is pretty darn good.
Twins: Aaah the true class of our broadcasters. Gordan and Gladden, great. Gladden is a true talent, insight, great radio voice. Gordan is a legend. Bremer and Bert. I like them. You have to love Bert. While I will never understand how Bremer got his job, I have to admit I've become accostumed to him.

I have to agree with you about PA. My Wife and I were driving home during the second half of the Green Bay beating game, and my wife told me to turn it to the real announcers. He was almost crying on the radio because the Vikes were so bad. And the screaming when A.P. breaks one for 4 yards, gimme a break.
Never heard a T- Wolves game (you could'nt pay me enough)
Never Listen to The Wild, always watch
Gorden and Gladden are good, (I dont really care for the Twins)

I also agree about PA. I listen to KFAN while I am at work most of the day, but I have to turn on music from nine to noon when the PA and Dubay show is on. Jeff Dubay is alright, but PA is so arrogant it is sickening. I don't mind the Vikings games until they start to lose and then, yes, he begins to whine and cry. Pathetic.

I think I heard Greenlay cry a little when the Avs went up 3-0 last night.
About the other teams around... PA is a solid VOX, but I do agree that he gets a little too amp'd up at times...I like PA & Dubay. But I can't stand either of them solo. I'd rather listen to Hartmann attempt to lull me to sleep than hear Dubay ramble about Gopher Hockey for 3 hours.
Wolves- Radio is average at best and TV hasn't been the same since Harlan left us.
Wild Radio is prolly the best radio team in the state.
Twins- TV, sometimes I wonder if Bremer and Bert are friends or not. Bert is funny because he says it like it is. Bremer is fairly boring, but still does a good job. Twins Radio is a hair behind the Wild crew. Gordon knows his stuff but the "Dazzleman" can not do play-by-play. When they switch in the middle innings, I switch it. Gladden does good color work, but couldn't hold PA or Gordon's jock.

Carpshade:
Totally agree, but made me think of the classics.
Baseball, I am starting to get used to Gordon, he used to drive me nuts. Herb Carnell spoiled us for years.
Hockey, Al Shaver. Best ever for hockey!
Gophers, Ray Christenson, my all time favorite
Most entertaining ever, Kevin Harlan during the Wolves dark days (assuming we are out of them) The teams were so bad by the 3rd quarter they would get off and great tangents and skits. You almost forgot you were listening to a game.

God I hate that show PERIOD! They both think their cooler than a tub full of ice and beer on a hot day. Especially when PA goes "3-2-1 bass!" only to hear some lame elevator music playing while they give their homer opinion of the week. Seriously they could cancel that show and just fill it with dead air as that would be more enjoyable.
Greenlay is a tool, nuff said.

I moved from MN down to Tucson, AZ to go to school and I am a big Wild fan and it is extremely aggravating having to watch the wild play and listen to fsn west announcing no matter if the wild are the home team. The announcers for Colorado are not good at all they can not see what calls are being made even when they watch the replay over and over again. I miss good sports announcing its a shame that I don't get a chance to go back home for the playoffs...

Nah, before my time. I have never liked listening to football on the radio anyways, just so hard to take in the whole play. Baseball I actually prefer to listen, especially when Herb was around. I remember when I was a kid, I think I listed to every game for three years straight(and that was mid-90s, not a fun time to be a Twins fan). Basketball I can do on the radio too, but hockey and football just don't work for me. Too much motion.
Though lets be honest, hockey loses a ton even on the TV, you can't replace the feel of the rink.
