Thanks...but the scores need to be adjusted for slope.  My 75 is only 4 over not 3...and the slope would adjust it up another 2.5 strokes.  Let's say it's a 78 since my handicap would be a 6.5 based solely on the 75 score and the course rating and slope.  6.5 plus par of 71 = 77.5 let's say 78.  Has Umhula not reported a score yet?  What about Sherm?  Just 4 of us?

(75 + 67.8) x 113/120 = 6.78 x .96 = 6.5 handicap + par 71 = Adjusted best score of 77.

geez cher......i'm a finance mgr with a computer, not a damn rocket scientist for nasa!....i can barely count up my strokes,let alone throw in a slope rating and course rating, and + or - adjusted handicaps, and all that other happy horsesh*T......whew.....how bout we just use pure score, so i dont have ta ask for help every time i shoot a 85, which obviously aint gonna matter anyway?............and right now, it IS only the 4 of us. strange, how everyone is golf fan, but no one seems to wanna post their scores, or maybe they dont play?....but thats cool, i watch pro football, and i darn sure cant play that!.....How about low round of the year actual (including adjustment for slope and rating) and low round of the year including handicap?

sounds good to me ,IF  you'll help with figuring the handicaps.........also, we need to determine a time frame. such as, all currentl posted scores, to run thru either, say, june 1st?....or say, 15 rounds?.....ALL rounds counting?.....jus throwin out some ideas here, maybe someone else has a better system.

and btw...umhula says he will play his 1st full 18 this monday...and i am playing again this sunday......

I hear ya...keep it simple stupid

However I just wanted to point out that the course rating I play is approximately 3 strokes less than par so a 75 is more like a 78 on a more difficult course which has a course rating of 72.  I am guessing the course rating is what a scratch golfer would score at the course.

So if someone shoots a 77 on a course rating of 72...it's one stroke better than a 75 on a course rating of 69.  All else being equal like weather of course.  Just trying to be fair to those who play at tougher courses.

Well I played a decent round today.   Shot 82 with three birds and four others..a decent round not great.  Roughly 80 degrees a little humid, thank god for the occasional breeze.  Unfortunately my course has just aereated the greens so putting todya was an interesting aside.

A few  rules that our foursome agreed to ignore:

When playing in windy conditions (i.e. 5 mph or higher) when addressing a putt you will not be penalized if your ball moves slightly.

When your shot goes from trap to trap you will not be DQ'd for raking first trap before proceding to second trap.

After hitting a decent tee shot  and you find your ball at rest in a divot of beaver tail proportions you may use your clubhead to move the the ball from the excavation to virgin fairway grass no closer to the hole of course.

Treating the rulebook with disrespect ? Perhaps. Having more fun ? absolutely.

Cher as soon as I make it to the course I will be posting a 98 proudly. I have not played in over a year. Also I played courses in CA. Now I live in Texas. I might have to adjust a little. But with a 98 how much worse can it get? Don't answer that.
