I don't know why you deemed it necessary to classify this as a race issue, because its not. Its a situation where a prima-donna is complaining about how he was labeled as selfish and as a result is showing just how selfish he is by not sucking it up and just playing the game. Instead he wants to sit on the sidelines and be a distraction for the entire team.
You think that the Cincinnati Bengals organization is not trying to please fans? Of course they are...that's why the grab good players and try to design a winning team.
As for the race issue, I'm not even gonna get into that because its just showing how you wanna get a rise out of people by going off on a topic that doesn't even have anything to do with the situation.

Your first sentence renders anything else you write meaningless. And I'll bet you don't even know why. But to answer your thread question, yes, I'm a huge fan of the team I support. That's our difference, I'm a team oriented person and you're excited by the actions of an individual. I am glad TD celebrations float your boat so much but they do nothing for me. Football is competition at it's highest level, not a dance studio. For that I'm what you say I am? Very telling.

I could care less if he acts white or mongolian yellow.... act like a team player and get wins instead of me, me, me, and i'm so self absorbed i wont even talk to the media. what a punk!
I'm just crazy about seeing a bunch of white guys on the field.. or how about most lineman are white cuz they are smarter... that what your looking for?
what does a white person act like? the ones in the ghetto act like they are in the ghetto. the ones who live in the suberbs act like they are middle class. the ones who are rich act like snobs.
what does a black person act like? the ones in the ghetto act like they are in the ghetto. the ones who live in the suberbs act like they are middle class. the ones who are rich act like snobs.

anyone playing the race card shows their lack of intellegence and Jesse this is no exception. If you feel this way go blogging on the BET website and leave WHITEY alone.

Yo Jesse! I'm gonna stand up and say I agree with what you are TRYING to say, but throwing everyone into a white right-winger category was a little uncalled for. I agree. Chad Johson is fun to watch, and I too would welcome him into Seattle. I think he's a great athlete, loves being the center of attention, works his butt off to be there, and is good for the NFL. I don't always agree with his "media negotiations", but hey, that's CJ, and I love it. I'm not even a Bengals fan, but he keeps me interested in Cincinnati football. I think there ARE athletes that can be looked down upon for thier off field activities, but Chad is just Chad. He's gonna run his mouth. But, he's got the game to back it up, so it doesn't bother me with him. Bring that mouth here to the Northwest Chad. We'ld love to have ya.
And Jesse, you had a good point in there, you just kinda came off as closed minded as the people you were trying to call out. Just my opinion. Go Seahawks!

As another mentioned you throwing the race card out there was completely unnecessary. These days the most racist are those crying race. There is no point in pointing the finger at the "white man". I'm so tired of hearing these racist comments, the black community wants to throw the card out any chance they can while no one's holding themselves back. It's role models like CJ that is why you feel you need to defend your race card. Boring white players may be considered boring because they go out, do their job and don't cause problems yet no white poster on here dares mention anything about race because it's past the point of here we go again with another black athlete making themselves out to be bigger than the team. No you don't owe the Bengals anything, but how about the predominantly white O line blocking to keep the white QB protected long enough to get that errogant idiot open for a reception. The problem with demanding these things is 1. he's under a contract he agreed to! 2. it's showing he feels he's more valuable to the team then he is. Without his teammates he would be nothing, just like TJ wouldn't be anything without him and just like Carson woudlnt' be if he were. I'm a Buffalo Bills fan and the classiest guy on our team is our WR Evans. Race doesn't matter as does this situation, he's just a classy guy, he doesn't spike it when he scores, he doesn't throw the football after a first down, pre or post rule, he's a role model and he deserves far more money then any cancer of a team like CJ does and this all relays back to the fundamentals of the team. Marv Levy once yelled at Thurman Thomas for spiking the ball in the end zone stating he should act like he's been there before and he never wants to see him do that again. That's the difference between quiet Hall of Famers and a guy that no team wants

Be careful in how you mention race. Race is at times an issue in perception and in the manner in which news is delivered, but I would not hardly support your position on this one. There are important issues where it can deservingly be debated therefore, don't throw it out there carelessly so that when relevant, is that much harder to validate.
As for you alluding to people wanting a "white", "boring" league?? C'mon...YOU don't even believe that do you? Don't make ignorant statements just to say something. The league has it's appeal through great commissioners, owners, marketing, fan bases, etc. Through the years, there have been many non-black figures who have been deemed flashy and had a presence outside of the game (Namath, McMahon, Gastinau, etc).
I know many black people who "subscribe to mainstream social values" and "act" like themselves. It's insulting to suggest that is non-black. What's acting "white?"...or "black" for that matter? Step into the present day and become verbally and socially responsible.
