Coyote--

Your post may have been "off topic," but it was very enlightening.  I probably learned this way back in my high school days, but certainly didn't remember it.  There are probably a lot of us who "misremember" that the South fought only to keep slavery.  Thanks for clarifying.  A little history lesson is a welcome break from the ridiculous tirades on the Ocho Me-yo topic.

Cincinnati's O line has 3 black starters, 2 white starters.

The real problem is not white people wanting black people to act white. It's black people finding an excuse for every black person who is obnoxious or an ass. Instead of agreeing that Chad Johnson is being a baby black people feel they need to defend any black person even if he killed someone, did something illegal, or is being a jerk. Maybe if black people would demand more professionalism from their spokespeople and role models there wouldn't be this disconnect

Wow, you really don't have a clue do you?  What's happened now is there are no team players.  It's not surposed to be about money.  They all make too much anyway.  Players used to get drafted and play for one team most of their career..... Enjoyment?  How enjoys watching CJ act like a little kid and idiot.  I watch football for FOOTBALL plays not some tired a** acting job.  How many HOF do you know of act like that?.... I wish the Cowboys would get him.  That team would be a bigger joke than they are now.  TO is eventually gonna do something other than cry for his ball dropping QB and CJ would make things worse.  Look forward to kicking some Cowboy butt at Heinz Field this year!   Hope his breed of players doesn't just die out but become extinct.  Hope he doesn't play this year and learns his lesson.  Hope he never plays again. Nobody is bigger that the game.  And there is no I in team.  Be thankfull your making too much to play a sport and get your butt on the field.  For that kind of money I would never complain about anything.  No need. He'll be broke five years after he stops playing though. LOL

You're talking about a cultural standpoint yet you choose the handle of a white coward and your picture is of a vehicle worshipped by the rebel americans who lived to opress your rights? Wow, you are mis-informed and mis-aligned.

Chad is colorful and in it for himself, not his team. We love the colorful part and hate the greedy part. Brian Urlacher is now crying like a baby in Chicago because Briggs got morey monry than him. Brian U has become greedy but he is white. How can that be? He's spoiled, greedy and is being disruptive in a team environment. There is no color here at all, just guys who won't live up to the contracts they signed when they were at the top of their game.

Other say the NFL breaks their contracts all the time. This loophole is in place because the signing bonus and roster bonus is where the player's money truly is. If CIN signed Chad for 6 years at $3 mil ($18 mil) and gave him a $15 mil signing bonus, his total contract is ($33 mil) or about $5,5 mil a year. If CIN wants to cut Chad after year 3, he still keeps his $15 mil signing bonus and was paid $9 mil for his 3 years for a total of $24 mil for 3 years or $8 mil a year average. Now, Chad can sign and get more than the $3 mil a year he was making and probably get another signing bonus (probably less) and the player actually makes out better than staying. Of course, injuries and decline in play are a factor but the bottom line is that cut player is not being cheated out of his money if he can still play. Injury settlements for injury, etc as well as contract buy outs also level the field for the cut player. The team may cut this guy but he wasn't cheated out of his money.

This issue is not white/black as your racist comments make it out to be. Why some people bring race into any discussion whenever an opposing view is brought up, I have no idea but to me it means that the person who cries racism is actually the real racist who can't justify his comments with any valid argument, proof or intelligent reasoning. Crying racism is a crutch for a weak mind. It only makes the cry baby look even sillier than his words imply. It also makes anything said after this type of comment less meaningful.

Chad Johnson isn't even trying to restructure his deal.  He just wants off the team.  I hope the Bengals don't trade him and he just sits the year out.  Chad is so full of himself and doesn't deserve anything at all.

During the Super Bowl weekend I saw him at the mall.  He was standing out in the middle leaning against a pillar as kids were asking to take pictures with him or get his autograph.  He just told them he was just shopping (as he leaned up against a pillar outside the stores).  But when girls asked to get a picture with him he had no problem.

Do you see what kind of character Chad Johnson has?

He shouldn't be traded, the Bengals are doing the right thing.  It's a personal thing now between the Bengals and Chad.

I use to like Chad until I met him.

Its not a race issue.  Its a man issue.  Chad Johnson is a grown man.  He signed his name on the dotted line on his contract.  The other party to the contract (the Bengals) expect him to honor his end of the bargain.  I dont think any regular guys (us fans) give a crap if he's white or black.  At least I dont.  Dont make it a race issue, it isnt.
