I was one who ask for Willies head last year when i watched my beloved team collaspe like the Titanic .This year i thought maybe Willie can see his mistakes and correct them but so far it seems like Willie is still being out managed by anyone .prime example todays game 1 out bases loaded the protocol is to bring the infielders in on the corners 1st and 3rd with 2nd and short to play for the double play well what does Willie do a hard smash to the shortstop and Reyes throws home because he was playing for a play at the plate for what we were loosing 4 to 1 at the time you have to get a double play out of a hard ground ball to your shortstop.Sometimes the Mets look like they just go through the motions at times it looks like our offense just disappears .This is a coaching problem it is the coaching staff responsibility to get your team ready to play everyday.come on Willie lets get going ?

I gotta agree with you. They cant get bunts down, cant cover first base. Certain things are beyond his control, but fundamental stuff isnt. Not to mention the amount of Double Plays we hit into. Its understandable if its our slower guys, but Reyes, Beltran, Chavez, and Wright?

amen guys. We were the team 2 years ago turning all those double plays. The Mets are lathargic...ive never gone into a season and said this early..this isnt our year..but guys this is not our year...we just got BLASTED by the Cubs. Fire willy, PUT A C ON DWRIGHTS chest, get rid of delgado and get A WHITE guy to replace him. Enough of this Dwright being the minority. Im not trying to go racial but you know what a team full of puerto ricans isnt the answer they are great ballplayers but this is what happens when you have a team full of them. lets go mets and lets get back on track.

omar minaya is a racist, only wants hispanic players. i have said it a million times.
but no one was calling him out when he was signing santana.
the problem is, just like the yanks, you guys signed a bunch of old guys who were top players but at the mid or end of their careers in an attempt to win now, you didn't win but for one season and now are stuck with the delgado's, the el duques, the castillo's, the pedro's, the alou's, and even to some extent beltran that fill up the dl and when actually playing underperform, except fo maybe alou.

I can't believe you guys call yourselves Mets fans. A few years back before Willie and Omar the Mets were a joke. We were constantly the asement dweller save for 2000 when we reached the world series. Jokes were masde about the Mets as the garbage of New York. Now we're winning games and contending because of who we have in charge. Sure we need improvement, but compared to where we were a few years ago this team has made so much progress. So quit complaining that the Mets aren't doing everything right and be grateful we are no longer a doormat.

When Omar trades David Wright for Aremis Rameriez I will then rethink he is trying to field a Hispanic only team.

Incase you people havent noticed MLB is about 80% hispanics. These people
since they were 5 years old were plsying with aluminum foil shaped like a ball and a tree branch for a bat and a piece of cardboard for a glove. why? because they are from a poor country and 2 they love the game. Its nobody's fault that mlb is mostly hispanic. okay you can argue the fact minaya goes for mostly hispanics, but so what.
Hispanics have a passion for this game so do the japanese and cubans.. did you see world baseball classic? do u watch caribbean world series? they go nuts these teams because they love the game.. usa and i am an american will not win world baseball classic.. american players think about $$$.

Guys guys guys please lets not get carry away here RACIAL come on it doesnt matter who we have on the team is who runs it that i have a problem with i could care less whats the players ethnic background is as long as the team plays fine fundamental baseball we have a good team but the coaching staff has got to get these guys ready to play day in day out period.mental lapse on the field ?missed signs ,blown double plays ,players not knowing what to do with the ball.guys this is a professional baseball team we are talking about not a little league team .We will be fined when we start playing Met baseball. Willie gets paid good money to sail this vessel to the promise land it is Willies job to make sure we stay on course .

People only complain about Omar being a racist because they just want to see people that look like them on their favorite team. Omar tries to sign players he thinks will help the team. Just like alot of GM's he has made some bad decisions, ie Beltran, Delgado, Bannister ...
Willie is the problem hear, he might as well just go out to the bullpen and kill the relievers one by one. He doesnt know how to manage and he has cost the Mets many games. How about getting a manager that can light a fire under these guys asses. There is no passion on this team. Last year it was Wright and LoDuca, Loduca is gone now and the only voice you hear is Wright. They need some of the players to speak out. The majority of the team is Latin players, I want to hear more from them. Beltran needs to speak more, show some fire. He is supposed to be a leader, show it.

where in the world did you get that MLB is 80% hispanic players?? in 2006, it was 30% international, from all countries, not just hispanic. about 28% of the players were hispanic. and what does the nationality of the players have to do with anything?

You wanna Know the difference between American Born Players and Hispanic Players?
When the season is over David Wright Goes to Virginia to live out his offseaeson. All Last year he heard everyday about the Mets Pathetic collapse but you know what when the season is over Carlos Delgado Leaves the Country to go live in Hispanicland and never has to hear about the collapse again until next year when he can preach about turning the page. He dosent care niether does any of the rest of them. Thats the difference Fella.

I 100% agree omar is making me CRAZY spending all this money to bring in all these old guys to "win now" when the hell is now? ive been waiting all my life to see the Mets win a world series. Hasnt happened since i was a year old. what he needs to do is stop buying these old player and start trying to get some home grown young talent and not trade all of them away for guys like santana who has pitched his heart out but still not as great as he was on paper in the off season.

I agree...Willie is no manager. Maybe a great positions coach or assistant but not a manager. He a perfect example of the "Peter Principal"
He seems to be more of a spectator than manager...never makes things happen. Sometimes you have to try something different.
Any guesses on how long he will last...will it take another disappointing year to see him go or will we have to suffer | |
