Just an interesting thought if the Chargers picked up Shaun Alexander to back up Ladanian Tomlinson.

I think his value has somewhat dropped, plus he's injury prone. He'd be good for a back up! If he was Cheap enough!

I would really like us to work Sproles more in the game plan. I think he has explosive speed and uses his size to an advantage just as Tomlinson does. I think a huge factor for next season is how Pinnock is going to react to being a starting fullback. He needs to stay healthy and work out strong during the offseason so he can set up LT for a great season. He was under Lorenzo long enough to learn how to be sucessful and really integrate into our offense. I hope he does his job.

I would say for the right price, but we need a power runner like, uhm, The Burner! Shaun proved last year that without the correct blocking, he wont get 2 yards from the scrimmage line. But if hes cheap, go for it....

Not a chance he is a ME player and would never work on a team like the Chargers.... He broke the Record for himself but when LT broke the record it was a team accomplishment.... Let the Pats get whatever

I agree 100% mguilmey619.  We don't need players who don't have heart and put themselves ahead of the team.  Alexander got himself a big fat contract and was never heard from again.  All the rumblings from other players is how he played soft and was afraid of making contact.   He was too concerned about messing with his pretty face than winning games.

Two years into a six year contract and getting cut says all we need to know about Shaun.  Let's draft someone in the later rounds and use some of our developmental players and even mix in Nanue in the mix.

The same things were said about Randy Moss before he went the Patriots... He lost his competitiveness!

I might be a risk worth taking... For the right price!

Maybe true, but he had that foot injury, the same as Gates and we all know Gates wasn't a 100% out there or we all would have a RING on our finger! He deserved a fat contract due to setting records and getting his team to the SB. Now, im not defending him, im just saying, if hes cheap, lets see. If he thinks hes worth too much, later buddy... Dont hurt to see....

"Shaun proved last year that without the correct blocking, he wont get 2 yards from the scrimmage line. "

Who better to block for him than our O-Line?? Its just my opinion but I think they have a tendency to block "correctly" more often than not.

Why not take a flyer on him.He is just 3 years removed from the NFL Player of  the Year and being a veteran could be another good presence to have on the sidelines. We all know, when healthy,he is an everydown back in the NFL. Without a doubt we cannot say the same for Sproles who is just a change of pace back.I think I would rather have Shaun-A in the backfield than Sproles if god forbidding L.T. goes down. Plus what rookie is going to step in there and produce? We arent going to get a Adrian Peterson with the draft picks we have...I dont put much into Shaun-A's stats the past couple years due to injuries and the fact that the Seahawks let go of two of some of the best offensive lineman in the NFL.

I believe it would be a mistake not to try and make a push for him

Whatever happens...Go Bolts !!!
