I think we are destined for an 11-1 season with our only loss being at Texas. If we play Texas in the Big 12 championship again, I would give Mizzou the advantage. However, if it is against Oklahoma, I would be afraid. I still like Mizzou receiving a BCS bid even if they lose twice.

We get a break in that we don't play Oklahoma this year unless it is in the Big 12 title game, KU has to play both OU and Texas as well as Mizzou so I think we will repeat as Big 12 North champs. But I think that this team can beat Texas at Texas based on what I saw last year and in the spring game. This team is on a mission to prove it is not a one hit wonder. The Chase for a Big 12 Championship, a Heisman trophy and godwilling, a national championship begins August 30th against Illinois, a tough and good test to begin the season with the possibility of a ABC National telecast as well as College Gameday being in St. Louis for the game. This team can run the table to the Big 12 and NC game if they keep the mindset they had last year and Chase can win the Heisman in his senior campaign.

I would love to see an 11-1 season and a match up with OU in the Big 12 title game, however, Juice Williams for Illinois has gotten much better in the offseason.  I think this game will be much closer than alot of people think.  I am actually, at this point, picking Illinois.  That pick could change based on team injuries through summer workouts leading up to gameday.  I also believe MU will lose at Texas.  Texas has made huge strides in the offseason.  They have a new defensive coordinator named Will Muschamp.  This guy is going to be one of the best head coaches in the game in a few years.  He is a defensive mastermind.

2008 Record 10-2 Big 12 north title, and Big 12 overall title.

It goes without saying, but the Illinois game is huge.  This is the game that will be a thorn in the side of whichever team that loses, come BCS bid time.  If Willy Mo is healthy and we get solid all-around play from the defense, I think MU comes away with the win.  The offense will find ways to score.  I'm looking forward to seeing more of a running game this year, and I think we'll see that right out of the gate vs. ILL.  The Texas game in Austin worries me.

I'm thinking 11-1 (loss to UT), and Big 12 champs if we get Texas or Texas Tech at Arrowhead.  If it's Oklahoma, we could be staring down a repeat of last year - BCS (title?) game at stake against Oklahoma.  Maybe its still a bad taste from last year, but I don't like the odds in a Big 12 title rematch.
