Kansas guard Mario Chalmers has declared for the NBA Draft, but is leaving open the possibility of returning to the national champion Jayhawks by not signing with an agent.

The 6-foot-1 junior said Wednesday that he will enter the June 26 draft only if he's projected to be taken in the first round. He said he's currently projected to be picked between 25th and 35th but hopes to move up through predraft workouts.

Chalmers hit one of the biggest shots in Kansas history, a 3-pointer with 2.1 seconds left to send the national championship game into overtime. The Jayhawks went on to beat Memphis 75-68 for their third national title.

Dont worry people....He will be back...Cuz i know for a fact that he is not going to go to a NBA team in the 1st 15 picks and the same goes for Darrell Aruther

I think Mario will come back. This years draft is very talented, and he said he won't go in unless he is guarenteed a first round pick. I guess we will have to wait and see

I think Mario will come back but if leaves, that really only leaves Sherron Collins as a real threat next year...with the promising futures of the Morris twins/brothers who are both Forwards and Guard Travis Relaford, who are all Top 100 Prospects. With talent we have now which is all young (Freshmens & Sophmores) I don't see us making another run at the title until another 3 years.

Reason for hope....Texas has lost both great guards D.J. Augustin & A.J. Abrams & Oklahoma will probably lose Forward Blake Griffin.
