And when it rains the rain falls down
Washing out the cattle town
And she's far away somewhere in her eiderdown
And she dreams of crystal streams
Of days gone by when we would lean
Laughing fit to burst upon each other

I can see you sitting eating apples in the evening

Amoreena - Elton John (great song!)

fansince,
I'm sure our collections are pretty similar.
I haven't heard many songs I don't like.....

Try this:
I said, warden, warden, warden
Won't you break your lock and key
I said, warden, warden, warden
Won't ya break your lock and key
Yeah, come along here, mister
C'mon and let the poor boy be

The Doors

Been Down so Long

Try This

"Sunrise doesn't last all morning

A Cloudburst doesn't last all day

Seems My love is up, and has left you with

   no warning

But its not always going to be this grey"

Rhino, I think we would indeed overlap a lot in our collections, but I think that 90% of what I hear pass for music is recycled material. However, I've yet to find a musical genre I couldn't appreciate if it's done well.

Here's a new one for you

Oh it's been getting so hard
Living with the things you do to me
My dreams are getting so strange
I'd like to tell you everything I see

Oh and see a man at the back as a matter of fact
His eyes are as red as the sun
And the girl in the corner let no one ignore her
Cause she thinks she's the passionate one

Way on the other side of the Hudson,

Deep in the bosom of Suburbia,

I met a girl there, she sang mighty fine,

"Tears On My Pillow" and "Ave Maria."

Standin' by the waterfall at Paramus park
She was workin' for the friends of BAI

Ariel - Dean Friedman

Leave it to Rock to give us an obscure one like that.
Nicely done!

Fansince,
You are right about there being plenty of recycled stuff out there.
I have to admit that I definitely can not get into a lot of the stuff on Top 40 these days.
Justin, Britney, and Cristina are just not my thing.
Nor do I like any of the stuff that the past people from American Idol are putting out.
But there is still plenty of great new music out there....as well as all of that classic rock from our past.

Like this one:
Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century.
