OSU is loaded. Last year was a rebuilding year. The early game against USC will be a good test. And in the following years they play OU, Miami, and Tennessee. UT surprised me b/c outside of Auburn, SEC teams ususally don't play touch non-conference scedules, especially against teams where there's a change it might be cold. I would love to play any SEC team in Nov, when it's 35 degrees in Columbus. But SEC teams don't like it when their hansies get too cold.
Matt, you were doing just fine until you got to that SEC scheduling stuff again. Some of us have proven over and over again that it is a big MYTH. In their History, OSU has played 58 ROAD games against BCS opponents. I will use UGA as the example for the SEC. The Dawgs have played 108 ROAD games against BCS opponents. These are regular season games.
In the Regular Season every single Big Ten Team with the exception of Penn State has played more games against SEC teams in their own stadiums than down south. OSU has played 6 at home and 4 on the road. OSU has played 14 ACC teams not named Boston College. Thireteen have been in the Horseshoe. Since 1908, OSU has played one game in an SEC stadium (LSU) and one game in an ACC stadium (NC State). Now what were we talking about? Try playing in the Swamp or Tiger Stadium in late August with 80% humidity.
Your own Big Ten doesn't play games after Thanksgiving. Mr. Delaney, your Conference head told ABC Sports at the half of the OSU-Michigan game that they might relook that policy. The reason....it is too cold.
Do you guys have a problem that makes you feel the need to have some sort of weather advantage? I mean, 72F is neutral...helps no one. But I guess you feel you need to come up with some sort of advantage.
BTW, if you doubt the numbers, go to the CFB Warehouse and pick two teams. Go through their all time records against opponents that are currently BCS teams. Don't look at a record against other conferences because a ton of teams were or still are independents or they switched conferences....like Pitt, ND, FSU, Syracuse, Penn State, Georgia Tech etc.
