This was right at the onset of Gulf War I, at the NHL All-Star Game in Chicago.  I remember watching this live on TV, and I still get a huge thrill when I see it now.

Skates in the 1920's etc were flimsy and poor....could barely support a man's ankles, so many guys looked awkward. Players wore different caliber skates, salaries were very low in many cases and guys jsut made do. The videos also were such por quality, so you can hardly capture the true spectavle of the game.

 Bobby Orr was electric, of course.

Gretzky vs Broten     would rather have seen Janet Gretzky mud wrestle Layla Ali. Just a poor fight.

These guys were and are REAL.  THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!

You have to start with Bobby Orr clips, and Alfred you have done a great job presenting them. His eye popping talent and legendary career are just off the charts, and the videos show how effortlessly he made one extrordinary play after another that you just never see (past or present)..

With this revelation, you then start looking at the Bobby Hull's, Maurice Richards, Gordie Howes!!! and Bobby Clarkes etc with proper appreciation......Decades of hockey to talk about!
