Jake Long has been taken with the #1 pick by the dolphins. the rams will likely take a DL and Atlanta will probably take Matt Ryan. What I really want to know is whether or not Raiders should go after McFadden if Dorsey is available. Personally, I would take Long over Dorsey anyday, but if Rams do take Chris Long, should the Raiders take Dorsey, or McFadden?

I am a die hard raiders fan, and I cannot see Al Davis passing on McFadden here. He's an unbelievable talent, and Al David does not want to be kicking himself this time next year like a lot of teams that passed on Adrian Peterson are. I think becuase of the way Peterson exploded, McFadden is more likely to go earlier even if a team does not necessarily need an rb (like the raiders). AP was an incredible talent, regardless of the injury, and teams chose to pass on him. I can't see this happening with McFadden. My only issue with the raiders is giving Justin Fargas a big contract if they planned on taking McFadden. Michael Bush is waiting in the wings as well, so there is no shortage of rbs in Oakland. I'm fairly confident in our defense, but I can see taking doresey or long to sure up the run D, which was a big issue last year. However, if I had to make the call, McFadden would be wearing the black and silver!!
If Russell can live up to his 60 mil contract (and personally I'm very concerned about him), the raiders could surprise a lot of teams this year. Javon Walker staying healthy for a change will play a factor in this as well. With two shut down corners, if they can actually put some poitns on the board, I think they have a chance to go .500. Russel could have mcfadden/fargas in the backfield, with walker and curry out wide. Those are some pretty solid options. We'll see what happens, but that's my input.

Darren McFadden is no Adrian Peterson. AD is a MUCH more complete runner - he runs aggressively, he never goes out of bounds, he always fights for extra yardage - he is the perfect combination of speed and power. McFadden is very impressive, but you got to give it to the Vikings, they have the best back taken in the draft since LaDainian Tomlinson.
Whether the Raiders pick Long, Dorsey, Gholston, McFadden, or if they trade down, with the improvements on defense and offense they have made I could easily see them going 10-6. Best secondary in the NFL, best coverage LBs in the NFL, improving D-Line, this defense is looking pretty damn good.

Adding Vernon Gholston or Chris Long would give the Raiders another great defensive position. Personally I'd team Gholston up with Burgess, so that you can have two great pass rushing ends and the best cornerback tandem in the league. Considering they are starting Tommy Kelly at the other end position right now.
The Raiders have Justin Fargas, a speed back that rushed for 1,000 yards last season on a 4.5 yards a carry. They have LaMont Jordan and Dominic Rhodes backing him up, which means they already have a logjam at running back. We're even leaving out talking about Michael Bush, who I've read has looked pretty impressive and looks to be in his old form.
If those two players are go #2 and #3, then I'd take Glenn Dorsey. Improving the defensive line will help the Raiders much more.

The Raiders will probably go defense unless someone blows them away pick-wise in a package to move down. Al Davis loves flash and speed of course, but hopefully the actual football brains of the operation will win out and start from the trenches, most notably the D-line. Can't you just see Glenn Dorsey screaming and gesticulating violently all over the backfield after blowing up some poor QB, all the while wearing the black and silver? This guy would be in the Warren Sapp mold, but Sapp playing like his Tampa Bay days and not when he was in Oakland. Either Long or Dorsey would go great with Raider nation (Long with the obvious family fit). McFadden is an exciting player, but I can't decide if he is closer to being Adrian Peterson or Reggie Bush? A highlight reel/Sportscenter's Top 10 plays guy or a guy who actual can win a game in the NFL by himself. The Raiders obviously need all the help they can get.

I don't think that the Falcons are going to take a QB with their first pick. They need help at DT and glenn dorsey is arguably the best player at his position in this year's draft. Matt Ryan is good, but Atlanta can get another good QB. Maybe if Joe Flacco or Chad Henne (not great but potential good) could fall to them, or they could trade their 2nd round picks to get a late 20 1st round...either way i say they take dorsey at 3..

DMAC is not AP. AP is not DMAC. AP has been injured every year the past four years he has played football. That power he runs with often gets him hurt. DMAC is elusive and can stiff arm the best of them.
I had AP on my fantasy football team and I rode him to the championship game. I think AP is great and I've followed him since his freshman year in college. He had an out of this world first year and it coud have been better if he wasnt injured those few games.
DMAC played through all of his injuries in college. His rushing stats increased every year, unlike AP's who declined every year in college. People quick to write off DMAC because "AP is the complete runner" might need to check all of his injuries throughout his career.
DMAC will look good in silver and black.
