I have read message boards all over where Charger fans are criticizing mock drafts all over about how people project the Bolts pick.
They don't need an OT.
They don't need a WR.
They are so talented they won't draft this, they won't draft that.
Let me explain this to charger fans.
I promise you - the team will draft SOMEONE!
I understand they are talented and deep, but that does not mean they will not draft best available player, even if they are pretty good at that spot.
I am not being crazy and saying they will trade up for Matt Ryan, but they are still going to be at the draft tomorrow, and it is hard to predict what AJ Smith is going to do.
We get it - you are talented and deep and your GM is brilliant.
But that is why they could feasibly go in ANY direction.
O-Line? You can never have enough O-linemen.
D-line? Why not? Pass rush single-handedly won the Superbowl 3 months ago.
DB (CB or S)? Sure. This is a good draft for DBs.
RB to replace Turner? Definite possibility.
It is MORE moronic for (certain) Charger fans to shoot down mocks because there are so many ways for that team to go, not even the die-hard fans have a clue what they will do.
Lighten up guys. This is fun. Get over yourselves.

To an extent your right but you are also wrong in some places..
A. any charger fan that says we dont need a o linemen is stupid.
B. they absolutly have no room on the team for another WR or LB sooo...
C. they will draft a RB and and a DB.
But most of these mocks have been pretty dumb I have seen someone put Brian Brohm as their pick....

Not Chager fans are dopes but those who do the mocks are dopes. Honestly, who really cares about these predictions. You'll never see as much time spent on how wrong the mocks were as to the time spent on doing them. How many of these people have applied to become a GM of a team....zero....because they have no clue on what it takes to run a business and they are not held accountable. Believe me I understand this is fun but mock drafts are really stretching it. What you should really care about is that they cut down the time that your team has to draft an elite player or make a trade because of TV ratings. Its ridiculous that TV ratings have controlled the future of a business and your favorite team. P.S. Where is Louie Kelcher to kick some ass when you need him.

#27 is the perfect place to draft Brian Brohm - but it won't be the Chargers who do it. A team in the top 8 of the second round (esp. Miami, KC, Atl, Jets and Baltimore) will want to move up into the first to get him. Thus there will be lots of demand for this pick (because we have few holes and not many teams around us will be willing to trade) meaning AJ Smith will work a strong deal out with a bumbling GM from one of the aforementioned clubs allowing us to pick up lots more picks.
This would still allow us to pick up a decent OT (I'd take Sam Baker personally) at the top of the second and also pick up anything up to a low second (some of the stated teams have multiple second rounders) or early third rounder as well.
And to islapr - it's not ridiculous that TV ratings have controlled the future of a football business whose main revenue stream is TV revenue. Remember everyone has a boss - if the teams want to maximise their TV deal then they need to be subservient to the networks who need good ratings to maximise their advertising revenue. If cutting the length of time to make decisions by five minutes to improve ratings is necessary then it is entirely logical.
Judging from Casserly's work in Houston (and I'm not just talking about Mario Williams - that may have been his best decision in all the time he worked there), you don't need to know how to run a business to be a GM in the NFL. If you get angry about mock drafts, then don't read them. They are only published because a lot of fans are interested in where other people think players will go. They are subjective predictions of the future, which is by definition uncertain - thus they will never always be right.

Not sure who's mock's your looking @ I have some 10 or so here & only have said LB Mayo the most have been divided between OL Cherilus or Baker, one had RB Stewart.
Check out NFL Predict the pick & see what fan's like us are picking.
But the so called experts Prisco, Judge, Carucci, Gosselin,Brandt, Cassely ect, ect, ect, are "not" predicting WR or LB...................

The problem with the chargers is that, with the exception of RB and TE, they aren't really spectacular anywhere.
The D-Line was exposed, the LBs were exposed. The secondary has one potentially great player (Cromartie), and Weddle, who could be an above average guy, and then just a bunch of good players. Rivers is alright. The O-Line is above average. The receiving corps is middle of the road at best. This is a team that needs at least one or two more GREAT players to get over the hump.
RB- elite (LT.. enough said)
TE- elite (Gates... enough said)
LBs- above average (elite if they could upgrade at MLB)
DL- above average ( dont get after the QB too often but excellent against the run)
QB- above average (Rivers is a good QB and we have a more than capable backup in volek)
OL- above average. (3 of our olineman have been to the probowl in the last 2 years)
Secondary- average. ( 1 good corner and 1 great corner. We need more depth at corner. Average safety in clinton hart. 1 potentially good safety in Weddle)
Special Teams- elite
Wide Receiver- above average. (hopefully Vincent Jackson is over the hump once and for all. Chambers is a top 15 receiver in this league)
