Here is a list of all the free agents we will have in the off-season.

Unrestricted:

Sergei Fedorov, Matt Bradley, Matt Cooke, Quintin Laing, Olaf Kolzig & Cristobal Huet

Restricted:

Eric Fehr, Brooks Laich, Boyd Gordon, Mike Green, Steve Eminger & Shaone Morrisonn.

So it looks like we are gonna be pretty busy then. Preferably I would like to resign pretty much all those players cause I think we have a really strong team now but I think the main players we need to resign are Green, Morrisonn, Fehr, Laich, Cooke & Huet. What do you guys think?

Hello All,

I would just like to point out that the Pens have still yet to lose a playoff game.

Bu Bye

caps better sign green.... i hear their are a # of teams interested in Mike Green, i'm not sure what the caps would recieve in compensation but they might have to consider it. My sources tell me that there are at least 4 teams in the top ten of this years draft who are willing to give up there pick for compensation Islanders( 5th), Columbus (6th),Nashville(9th), and Vancouver(10th).  i think he is worth about 4mill a season but i here the Canucks think he might be worth 5.5 mill a season. the Caps better sign him before July 1st or we might be in trouble.....

Yeah this offseason is gonna be interesting to say the least.  They NEED to sign Green before July 1st or we might be regretting it big time.  He's a stud and will only get better.  I also would think we need to sign Huet for a few more years, he was fantastic down the stretch and plus I don't think we have a goalie in the system that is ready to step in right now.  Looking forward to next year!!

The Caps may have to make a choice sign Huet and lose Green or sign Green and lose Huet....  i don't think the Caps can afford them both. If it were up to me I'd keep Green and let Huet go, there is more upside for Green than Huet... the caps haven't had that type of production from defense since we traded Gonchar. I know it will cost alot to resign him but it has to get done. I think Brent Johnson will be our starting goalie next year.....Remember the Caps drafted a young goalie in 06, Simeon Varlamov he just turned 20 but i think he could be the future it wouldn't make sense to sign Huet to a 4 or 5 year deal if Varlamov is ready in 2 years. with all that said i think this is a no brainer, sign Green and let Huet go...............Caps please Trade for Regehr we need some leadership and stabilty on the blue line, he could be that stay at home defender that plays against the other teams top lines.
