So Evel you should be the most happy about the draft. Tampa picked greatr than 50% of your choices. I would guess you give this draft an A.
By the way, we added 2 additional draft picks by moving around in the draft. Job well done.

Abso-freaking-lutely. A+!
Aqib Talib was the 4th-best corner in my mind, mostly because he reminds me of T-Buck. Not bad, if you can keep him under control. I had Mike Jenkins slightly higher, but then I remember that all the scouts said he wasn't a sure tackler. I was blinded by local pride. Sue me.
Jackson has a lot of quickness and great speed overall. Probably just a KR and slot receiver, but a fast one! People talk about App State being 1AA, but they could easily be a force in, say, the Big East. That's a strong program and this is a clutch receiver.
Zuttah provides much-needed depth on the OL. He's played center, guard and tackle. He's a damned good reason why Leonard and Rice were able to tack on all those yards at Rutgers.
I saw Dre Moore play a few games when there was nothing else to watch on Saturday between the Bama game and prime time. Watched him make a few plays. Not a bad run-stuffer. As long as we're rotating D-line, this kid will do just fine.
Josh Johnson, baby! Yeah, I wanted Brohm, but this kid's got juice! I don't care what level of competition you're playing... 42 TDs and only 1 INT? That's juice.
I'm not too keen on Geno Hayes, but we'll see.
Cory Boyd is on my list, though. Spurrier teams that are supposedly pass-oriented often have amazing RBs that just don't get the ball enough. Spurrier gave this kid the ball for the whole Georgia game and he delivered. Grinder. Youth at RB, I say.
Yeah... I'm freaking happy about this draft.

I think they were solid. Zutah is a nive vesitile line-man. For someone who likes Mike Alstott (I assume) and wants a better offense, drafting o-line depth should be welcome. The games are truthfully won in the trenches 1st and foremost. If any of our guards go down we have back-up depth now. Of any position, o-line and d-line depth is crucial.
Haha. I don't really understand what that has anything to dp with A-Train, but w/e. no problem
I did want Caldwell too in round 3. But in grand scheme of things, we didn't have room for another WR. Seriously.
- 1 Galloway
- 1 Hillard
- 1 Clayton
- b Bryant
- b Stovall
- b Jackson (rookie)
- b Spurlock
Hilliard and Galloway= 2 maybe years left.
Clayton= If he gains weight, he could be a TE, has that sort of skill set but drops too many passes.
Bryant=Okay. Inconsistant
Stovall=Great training camp and did nothing in the season. Kindu like gradkowski the year before.
Spurlock=will only make the team for breaking the curse.
We really aren't that deep at receiver unless Clayton and Stovall step up. Plus, a 4.20 40. If they took him, they'd have two bigs and 2 speedsters making up a very good receiving core in about 3 years.
Now let's look at the o-line:
I didn't include the new guy. Donald Penn was our best lineman last year and he was undrafted proving that you can find a gem outside of the draft. Joseph was the worst with all his penalties. I still think that Davis and Beunning have potential left. Petigout is a good option at tackle. When you have Petigout that can play tackle, Davis that can play T/G and Buenning that can play C/G, why do you get another guy? We have a young O-Line. We have a veteran center. We have a good solid line before we wasted this pick. Plus, this guy is supposed to only be a run-blocker with bad pass-blocking abilities. With Garcia a 37-year-old, we need a guy that can block for him.
Anyway: I don't like the Talib pick because in the Tampa two, you can get a good corner later in the draft. Ex. Ronde. You just need a solid tackler. I would've liked to see us trade that pick for Lito Sheppard. He's proven, a pro-bowler and is only 27. Instead we got a guy that is more likely to get suspended for the first 4 games than actually play them with his recent history. I'm not saying we should've gone Jenkins, but getting a proven corner like Sheppard would have been better.
I give the first 3 picks a C-
I give the last 4 a A
I ain't an expert but I think i know a little thing or two.

Also, remember the last time Suprrier had a big-time back that he didn't use that much that wasn't a big-time draft pick? I think he wears number 34 and scored 10 TD's. Boyd is Graham with a little less power and a little more speed. That kid could be big time.

Because if you don't have a solid o-line then running and passing becomes even more difficult. How can 4th, 5th, and 6th WRs be of any threat without an o-line to block? Also, how do you throw deep without an o-line?
We had no depth on the o-line. We lost Wade, Lehr... we needed o-line depth and got a good one at the #3 spot. Lineman drafted in the top 3-4 rounds are more likely to step in as starters than later picks.
BTW, I disagree about D. Penn. Yes he did well considering the circumstances, but he didn't play better than Sears, Trueblood or Joeseph last year.
Haha. I don't really understand what that has anything to dp with A-Train, but w/e. no problem

Congrats BUC Fans,
You got the steal of the draft in my opinion. I've been watching Cory Boyd develop and mature for the last four years and can tell you, with the utmost certainty, that he will be a great addition to your team. We are certainly going to miss him at USC.
He runs hard, has great enthusiasm, and is a leader on the field. He won't break away for many 20 yard gains, but he will get you 4 yards EVERYTIME he touches the ball. Soft hands out of the backfield. The perfect 3rd Down/Slot player.
I think you'll be happy.
Go BUCS!

- It's amazing to me that Aqib Talib gets hammered because of his failed drug tests, but Mike Jenkins gets a pass about being arrested and obstructing a cop. They both had issues in college. By all accounts, Talib has matured and improved his work ethic. We'll see. No player is a guarantee in this league, but Talib's skillset matches what the Bucs need. I didn't see a lot of separation this year between corners 1 and 4, so who knows which was really the best. The only way to find out is to put them out on the field.
- I'm not sure about Dexter Jackson. So many of these short/fast guys have failed in the NFL.
- I wonder if Gruden's looking at Josh Johnson as a WR. I think he could have some value on special teams as well, which might be how he gets his place on the roster justified.
- I think Geno Hayes has a shot to make the team.
- Zuttah may have been a bit of a steal for the Bucs.
