Who will be the qb of the future?

I think it'll be A-Rod

Though I have been impressed with Rodgers in the little time that he has been in real game situation uninjured (i.e. Dallas), I REALLY like Brohm and I could see him having more success in Green Bay as a starting QB than Rodgers.  When you watch Brohm's film at Louisville he almost seems like he's built for the Packers offense.

My big concern about Rodgers is his health.  I could see a situation where he does the same thing Favre did with Majkowski, takes over after an injury and never surrenders the starting job.  I hope we end up with both of them healthy and capable of starting and it creates a good QB controversy, but I remain to be convinced that Rodgers can start all sixteen in a season.

Are we forgetting that Rogers was the 20 something overall pick in 2005?  It's not like he's destined to be a bench-warmer; he had a great college career, and has shown very strongly in his only chances on the field.    The poor kid was picked 3 years ago to become Farve's successor, and Farve finally retires at least 1, maybe 2 years behind schedule, and we're already looking for a new "eventual starter."  I don't get it.

If Brohm had a better defensive around him and Louisville had say, won 9 games, people would feel much differently about him......I voted for Brohm in the poll, but this being said, this could turn into a Brees/Rivers situation if Rodgers plays well.....

I like the pick of Brohm by the Pack, b/c the Packers got low-end first round value at a pick in the mid-50's.....I am from the school of thought that a team should take the best available player, not so much what they think they "need"......

the Packers got the steal of this draft. Brian Brohm will be an elite quarterback...which is why i feel sorry for arron rodgers. its really got to suck to be him.

I'm not a Packers fan myself, but I thought this was a pick with a lot of intelligent foresight.

Rodgers is still the guy, but they are safe if he regresses and flops out, or if he has persistent injury problems.  If not, then they have trade bait for a couple of years... serious trade bait.  Now I realize that Brohm fell pretty far this year, but keep in mind that there are few, if any, premier QB projected for next year's draft, and you can be certain there will be teams with QB needs.  If Rodgers turns out to be everything the Pack hopes he is, that puts them sitting pretty as one of the few possible sources of a QB-solution for some other team.

This also seems to send a message to Favre and Rodgers:  Rodgers is our guy, and even if Favre wants to unretire we've already filled the backup spot too.  In other words, if Favre unretires, it won't be to Green Bay... a Rodgers injury will now mean experience for Brian Brohm, not a drama-laden comeback for Favre.  Which, from an outsider perspective, is the right move unless you're 2 weeks from the start of the playoffs.

it will be Brohm in a few years because Rodgers growth was stunted by the Favre era and i dont think that he can become the QB that the Packers need

Rodgers was stunted by Favre. That's true that happens with lots of Favre's backups like:

MAtt Hasselback

Kurt Warner

Mark Brunell

Ty Detmer

Jim McMahon

I think Rodgers will be great provided he isn't the next Chad Pennington.

I think Rogers will have a bigger impact than Brohm just because Brohm seemed to get hurt way too much in college. Granted, it could have been his offensive line (I didn't watch much UL football) but, still, he's most likely going to get hit more and by bigger people in the NFL.

Brohm only got hurt twice and only missed about 4 games because of it. He is a crazy fast healer and always works his hardest to get better. I hope a few years from now he will be in charge of my second fav. NFL team. I like the pick by the pack, as Brohm is in my opinion better than all the other QB's in the draft, he just got nitpicked to death by the scouts and the media. He had the best career out of the top four qb's and his stock fell because for some reason they blame Louisville's poor season on him. Time will tell and Brohm will be the best qb in 5 years.

For the near future it is going to be Rodgers at the helm.  I just wanna know if next season I might be able to catch a few snaps to Brohm if I watch a Pack game.  I mean, there're times on coll-fball where the backup does take a few snaps and runs the offense for awhile.  But this'll be the nfl.  Is this a possibility guys?

Aaron Rodgers will start the season; no doubt there. rarely do teams start a rookie playcaller. however, i like the brohm pick. i say if petrino was still in atlanta, they would've swapped with baltimore, given baltimore ryan and taken brohm at 8. he doesn't have the most powerful arm, but he's accurate. he'll make the short, easy throws and thats what the Packers need. They're offense this year will rely on wideouts making plays with their feet after they catch, and brohm fits that offense. i like this move a lot.

On the other hand, what the h*** is up with them trading out of the first round and selecting nelson? worst pick of theirs i say. he's our sixth reciever, and... i dunno stupid move for me. i've been sayin all along they should trade up for a premier corner like McKelvin. or take DeSean Jackson both of whom can return punts fantastically. the packers just needed some top ranked youth, not a slew of players like miami or baltimore. i wish they would've traded both second rounders up to new england (more if that's what it took) and taken Keith Rivers to play with Hawk and Barnett in the linebacking core. then with they're first rounder, taken Brandon Flowers, who played a press coverage D at Vtech.

o well. shows how much i know.

I say rogers...cause he had the best teacher to teach him and learn from a great hall of fame QB brett frave... Brohm was pick just in case Rogers wasn't the right guy... so lets see how rogers does... he has no excuse ...

RIght now, the starter is Rodgers. he's been in this position for years, now is his chance. they're going to give him the starting job.

However, brohm is more suited to the green bay style. i'm gonna
