Curious what the majority prefer. Keeper leagues or non-keeper leagues.

I prefer non-keeper leagues. I have been in a non-keeper league for 10 years and we have had the same 10 owners all along...what I love the most about it is the excitement of all players going back on the board and getting a chance to outwit and outplay each other again. Having the same owners, you get to know how they play and it is fun to meet at the draft and compete and trash talk all year long. Keeper leagues are better than dynasty leagues. Don't get me wrong all fantasy football rocks, but a standard league brings the excitement every year for me at a higher level. Thanks for the thread.

I agree, I prefer a non-keeper league. That way from year to year, different teams will have the best players like Tomlinson, instead of one team having him every year.

I am in both keeper and non keepers.  I am going on ten yrs with the Keepers and I must say its otay  for now.  But ever since I joined the Non Keeper going on 2nd yr I look forward to that more than the Keeper.  To know that you have a chance to get LT or someone in that caliber every yr gives you hope.  In keeper leagues when you have a bad team it takes time to get better, to get better palyers.

What the question should have been, was do you prefer Dynasty Leagues, Small Keeper Leagues and Re-draft Leagues.

I'm in a total of 20 leagues and run 5. Of all 3 types, I like them in this order:

1) Re-Draft 2) Small Keeper & 3) Dynasty.

Like everyone has said, I like having all of the players in the FA pool. Small keepers are not too bad. It just depends on the rules concerning how many you can keep. In Dynasty leagues, if you don't have the first 3-5 picks in the draft, you end up either picking up last years scrubs or rookies that probably won't have much impact on your starting roster for the year.

While I play in all of them, my 5 leagues are either Re-Draft (3) and Small Keeper (2). I just don't like Dynasty Leagues enough to run one.

I play in multiple leagues and types, but my favorite is a keeper league where you can only keep 2 players drafted after the 9th round in a 16 round draft. You can keep them for the following yr but lose a pick one round below they were drafted .

I participate in both...going on year four of a keeper league with my buddies and then I always do a Sportsline public league just to mix up and face off against different people.

Our keeper league pretty much adheres to Sportsline standard scoring with a couple of tweaks and a bonus structure for extremely high end weekly performances by players.    We keep 7 out of 15 players.   At first I thought it would be too much and the league would be dominated by the same teams however after 3 years we have had 3 different champions and the league has maintained quite a bit of balance.   For instance I won the title 2 seasons ago and last season finished dead last...mainly due to injuries and inconsistent QB play but parity lives even with 7 out of 15 keepers.   Keeping 7 players has allowed owners to keep and take chances on younger players that you would normally let go.   For instance, last season the guy who drafted Braylon Edwards out of college was hugely rewarded for 3 years of loyalty to a guy who would have been dropped with less keepers.   So the large amount of keepers has worked out great.   There is alot of trading in our league and I attribute that to the large keeper number as well.

My favorite league is my keeper league where we keep one player.

It's a close call, but I like my redraft league a lttle better than the dynasty league I'm in. It's good to start with a clean slate every year.

But I think the dynasty league is a lot more challenging. I kind of fell into the dynasty team last year - took over someone else's team. I lucked into 2nd place. But the team really is a mess, especially at RB. Now I face the prospect of rebuilding and making it my team. It's tough, but I like tough.
