Worst fans ever is a little harsh. I've been going to Giants games my whole life (my grandfather was lucky enough to get season tickets while they still played at the Polo grounds) and at times the fans can be a little testy but the majority of that is due to these "fair-weather" fans that get the tickets from the companies that they work for. I can't tell you how many times I waited at the bottom of the escalator as a little kid and gotten ticket stubs for the lower level during the halftime of a game. It's not just blowouts, I'm talking about close games and even during the playoffs. I've been to Green Bay for 2 games and I've never seen anyone leave early. It's a shame that it happens here. I don't mean to go off an a tangent or anything, I guess it just kind of struck a chord with me because the people that sit in my section are some of the most die-hard fans you'll ever meet and I've had this argument with alot of my friends (mostly of the Cowboy variety). Sad to say but the booing is probably only going to get worse once the new stadium opens up. Alot of fans aren't going to be able to afford to keep their tickets because of the "right to use" fee that they are going to implement. All I know is, I've only booed once in my life at a Giants game and suffice to say it was during the Ray Handley days, you can't really blame me for that though.

Ok maybe I was harsh but I gotta agree with Jacobs who really put it to the crowd when they played great (after the Giants fans sold their tickets to the Patriots fans) despite Coughlin keeping the starters in. They said hey we play better on the road why can't we win? No one believes in us not even our fans. (Pretty much what they were saying only the locker room and very few people.) And they were right. Worst fans maybe not but they were quick to jump on the collapse bandwagon and then when the Playoffs came and after the good game against the Pats and all the wins on the Road we had a "chance" that was that... how quick a lot of people came back... if we played so so or bad people would think nope no chance. But we played real well hung with the "best" team at the time but we lost. I think that boo the other team cheer for your team scream defense it can give them a lift. You boo them that will HINDER THEM. Just my opinion... and it seems to actually be right. In all sports. I mean not saying people don't have the right to boo... they do they paid for their tickets but how many games have you seen a crowd get their team back in a close game in the first half? And stop the bleeding? I've seen plenty and that can carry into the second half and so on and so forth...

thereall_T,
Now you gave me flashbacks, as I too had season tickets 1979-2005. The fans do whine alot, and usually the annoying fans, were wanna-be's that would get their tixs from ebay, and would buy the opposing teams jersey and go to the game to annoy fans for no good reason. Giant fans do leave early from many games that were still undecided which amazed me. I would guess with the parking fiasco for this year, fans will be testy. And yes, even the Pope would have booed Handley.
Now, I too am excited for next year, as the team looks great. I don't remember the offense potentially looking this good. 2 TE lineup, or 2 backs, with WR's galore. And if this kid Manningham is any good, wow.
The defense could be very good, but we lost a couple of good guys. I hope the draft and some backups can step up here.
Could be an awesome season.....

imripped,
"If Shockey has a monster year and manages to not cause any trouble, why at that point would we trade him ?"
It's an option. If he's still unhappy or asking for a trade, we could get more for him than at this years draft. I don't know how valid the rumors are about the Giants considering trading Shockey or Shockey wanting to be traded but if there's any truth to them and Shockey is still unhappy, a trade is in the future, great season or not. It would be to everyone's benefit that he have a great season and not sit out (as the rumor went).
You're right about Moss. There is a good chance he stays, but he shouldn't. Even if he has a good preseason/training camp, his track record in games hasn't been very good. If we are as deep as I think in most positions, there will be very difficult decisions to be made concerning who to cut and who to keep. Do the math. Someone of value will eventually get cut that everyone will say "Huh?" That someone could be Moss, especially when we have Manningham (yes, I know he hasn't proven himself yet) but neither has Moss.

I am cautiously optimistic for next season.. This is the Giants remember. As much as I love them, they never do what they are supposed to do, and always seem to defy logic and reason. They're great (and won a SB) when they were supposed to suck; and they suck when they're supposed to be competitive..
A fourth and a fifth, and sixth SB championship wouldn't me to rethink or reconsider this. The franchise simply has defied logic over the 22 years I've religiously followed them.. So whether they defend their title and repeat, or go 4-12 next season, it won't amaze me! They would simply be the franchise I love.

got to agree with you on this.....They never seem to do what they are expected to do. I've been watching/listening to the Giants since I was 7. For more than a quarter of century(wow that didnt feel good to say) I have seen this pattern happen over and over again, as I'm sure the real oldtimers have seen also.
