You still have a game Tivo'd from a couple years ago that your team lost? How convenient, maybe you should go back and watch your Panthers lose yet again. Iggle fans are revisionists? We aren't the ones trying to alter history here pal, you're the one on here posting theories with absolutely no basis in fact. You brought up booing Santa (albeit a drunk dressed like Santa that was picked out of the stands and had his beard hanging off) and booing Garcia when he got up (I know I was booing at the time, they just happened to be showing a replay of the hit on the big screen). You were watching the game on T.V., you have no clue why the fans were booing aside from believing the idiot commentators. Philly fans are passionate, granted some take it to the point of being belligerent. I'll put it in a way you'll understand, think of Carolina fans when watching auto racing, college basketball or wraslin. Any other off the wall theories I can kill for you? Or are you going to come back with the killer insult of calling us fickle?

Very Intersting. I sometimes see some of what you're talking about in interviews with A. Reid right on up to Lurie himself. It's hard to miss sometimes. I am forever faithful though.
Until I see a team has just "Unmistakably" throw in the towel, I'll keep believing that one of the BEST head coaches and most efficient organizations of the last 8 years are doing what is best for the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles Football Team.
As for D-Mac, he can be a diva at times, but he can drop your jaw at times too. Until he becomes tooooooooooo much money above the potential risk, I'll keep a top tier QB over what's out there to replace him right now.
Go iggles!!

It is truly hard to find rabid nfl fans in the south, because we have so much good football. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. College. football is king in the south, I like pro best but most here like college. Talk all the smack you want but I know more about football than any 3 of you pasty soccer players.
Yes, I have every Panther game saved for the past 4 years.

being in the Military you miss the College faithful swearing by there respective team. Raised in South Florida and stationed in the Mid West the attitude toward the respective teams of the Big Ten and ACC / SEC is totally different.
The Pro team that I track most is the Jaguars and like the Panthers came into the NFL that exact same time. The Eagles are old rivals of the Redskins that I tract since the John Riggin days and Super Bowl XIV win over the Dolphins.
Like Eagles fans that seem to forget which dviison they play in with the Cowboys and Giants both beating each other up over the right to the NFC East the Eagles may not have a chance for a few years or until someone blows up and current path seems to be the Giants before the Cowboys.
The Panthers are a team of intrigue and if the run game can take off it may get Steve Smith some much needed yards after the catch that has not happened for a while
The drafting of Jonathan Stewart and OT Jeff Otah was a move in the right direction.
Now can Jake Delhomme get it together?

You're right we were booing most of the game. Every incomplete pass, every run that didn't go anywhere, every play that lost yards or was a minimal gain. Do you also remember us booing while your offense was driving down field. Of course we were booing, but it had nothing to do with Garcia (unless an incomplete pass was his fault). It's called passion, something no Panther fan has. Even those that proclaim to know more about football than any three of us. Again, you have no clue why we were booing because you weren't there. You also fail to understand our passion because you can't grasp what it is to be a Philly fan unless you grew up in the area and have been following these teams your whole life. Of course we boo, we are also quick to turn against players (see Scott Rolen, Ricky Watters, T.O.... ) when they aren't giving everything they have or they are making mistakes, but we will still follow our teams to the point of insanity. Just because we aren't always supportive of managment or players doesn't make us "fickle", it just means we aren't sheep to be led blindly. Still having every game recoded of your team for the past 4 years doesn't even begin to equate to the passion that most of us "pasty soccer" (I'm not even sure what the hell that means) fans have. Try going 25 years without a single championship in any major sport let alone all four. Get back to me then, because you might have a small sliver of a clue. If you are still completely behind your teams at that point, like we are, you'll start understanding.
Until then I'm done with this pointless thread. There is no rivalry here, we don't play you this year (unless both teams make the playoffs), and there are no bragging rights. You can hate our fans, you can hate our teams, you can hate our city. Personally I really don't care.

Case has every game for the past 4 years? That's 16 games X 4 years= 64 plus 4-5 playoff games? 3 hours per game times 69 games = 217 hours of recordings. I thought TiVO only recorded 80 hours. Something just isn't adding up!!!
Eagle_Phanatic, good post
Until I see a team has just "Unmistakably" throw in the towel, I'll keep believing that one of the BEST head coaches and most efficient organizations of the last 8 years are doing what is best for the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles Football Team.: I felt that way for a while too but now I'm tired of the "efficiency". People don't realize that there really is virtually no salary cap anymore. It is so high now because of all the revenue generated in the NFL that it's almost impossible to go over. I mean you can't get stupid crazy like the Cards and sign a WR for 36 million over 2 seasons (yet!) but you don't have to pinch pennies the way the Eagles make us believe you do. If Jerry Jones has his way, there will be no cap in the next year or so and that's probably when Lurie and Banner will sell because their business model isn't condusive to free spending. There would be no spin that they could put on Eagle fans to fool them anymore other than "we tried calling and calling but we kept getting disconnected. Before we knew it, there were reports saying the Giants signed so-and-so before we could!!" Like I said before, the efficiency model suits the owners, it does not suit the fans. Does it make you feel good knowing that the Eagles are usually ranked around 8th in "money under the cap" each year? When your window is closing it's time to start spending then rebuild in a few years.
Until he becomes tooooooooooo much money above the potential risk, I'll keep a top tier QB over what's out there to replace him right now. See, now there you go thinking like the owners again!! Just ignore money for a moment and then evaluate the position."I'll keep a top tier QB over what's out there to replace him right now." Say no more! I agree with that statement. The Packers agreed with that statement too and ignored money when evaluating their QB position over the past 3 seasons. Imagine if the Eagles ignored money when deciding if they should bring Garcia back for a one year deal? The efficient thought is: "We can't give starting money to a back-up QB so we'll live with AJ and hope McNabb can play at 100%". The common sense thought is: "Garcia ran this offense very well, we were 3 points away from another NFC championship appearance with Garcia leading the way and McNabb won't be 100% until at least week 8, let's bring him back".
Look what your teams efficiency got you, the fan! The Eagles defense was very good last season but the offense was horrendous. The offense couldn't do anything in the red-zone and Donny couldn't complete screen passes for crying out loud. Put an average, experienced, and capable QB on that team and there's no doubt in my mind you make the playoffs. Instead, they decided a below average, inexperienced, and incapable back-up QB was cheaper and somehow better for the Eagles overall success. Do you see what I'm saying? This is what I'm tired of. Take a gamble, what are they waiting for? They act like by saving that 3-4 million that there's some magical free agent they will sign later and go win superbowls. Is Asnte Samuel the answer? We'll find out, but he wasn't the guy throwing those int's to himself last year, Feeley was.
