I am a Saints fan and rate their draft in my top three.
1. Miami--I think that they had the best draft. They secured the top tackle, a first round talent DE, and a quarterback who could be the best in this class. Their draft went a long way toward improving the franchise.
2. Kansas City--Due to sheer volume of picks KC had a big weekend. Dorsey should be a great player. Albert reminds me of Larry Allen and should beef up their line. DaJuan Morgan looks like a good player too.
3. New Orleans--They only had six picks, but drafted to value better than any other team (with the exception of miami). Dorsey received most of the attention, but Ellis could very well be a better and more lasting pro. Porter has shutdown ability with speed and can be a factor in the return game. In the fifth round, they essentially drafted players projected to go into the second and third rounds (Nicks, Pressley). Mehlhaff fills a need and was arguably the drafts best kicker. Some projected Arrington as a fourth round receiver--he was taken in the seventh. Another Colston--we'll see. . .
Worst Drafts
1.Baltimore--Joe Flacco? They really reached here for an unproven quarterback. It seems that every year a quarterback is overrated because of arm strength. I think Flacco may be that guy.
2.Tennessee--Chris Johnson? A luxury pick. Vince Young needs help in the passing game. The Titans already have a decent running attack, yet they waste another first round opportunity to upgrade WR.
3.Atlanta--Matt Ryan at 3? I'm sorry folks, but I am not a believer. Atlanta could have aced this draft. Take Dorsey--new face for team. Take Henne or Brohm with the second pick. They totally reached for Sam Baker who many people projected to go into the second round.
Overrated/Underrated
Overrated draft-Dallas--They had two picks in the first round and didn't impress with either IMO. They chose Felix Jones over Rashard Mendenhall. Mendenhall was a legit top ten talent by many evaluators. Felix Jones was slated as a late first rounder. Bad move. Instead of taking Jenkins with their second first rounder, they should have taken Devin Thomas. In fact they didn't grab a WR, arguably their biggest need. Or if they keep Jenkins they should have grabbed Doucet in the second round. If TO gets hurt this team will struggle.
Underrated-New England--They took the best linebacker, Mayo who will give them the speed and versatility at LB that they need. Crable, O'Connel, Ruud were good picks.
